Egypt doesnt want war with Ethiopia. Both govs have been installed to serve as proxies of the US: therefore belived to behave as allies. They are expected to forward their differences to the US, and their handlers on behalf US, the UAEmirates and Qatar.

Egypt is only required by the US and Europe for 2 things: 1)Suez Canal, 2) to close Gaza border with Palestine to control arms smuggling. US doesnt want Egypt for anything else, as it has no oil more than for itself.
Sadam's Iraq was once the agent to deal with Iran. Armed to its teath including chemical weapons. Now its Saudi Arabia.
Egypt has no war experience since the 6 Day war in 1967. Egypt has never won a war. Sudan defeated it to gain its independence.
