Slavery is one of the reasons why Ethiopia deconstructed Amara that flourished on crimes of slavery. For King Sahle Sellasie of Shewa in 1830s, slavery of the Oromos was his bread and [deleted]. Swaths of villages were raided and sold.

2) Tona of Wolayta was exporing dozens of Wolayta, Sidama, etc of the various Southern tribes
3) Ras Alula of Tigray used to sell dozens of Kunama, Baria, Saho, etc of low-land Eritreas to the Middle East.

Thus, slave trade in Ethiopia was true. However, the man in the video exaggerated the cruelty at least for those serving as maids to local feudal lords. From the way he described himself, he appeared to be very opportunistic. What he said should be looked at cautiously. I very well know some individuals who considered to be slaves of feudal of Fetwurari, Girazmach, Balanbaras , etc.
Their slaves were treated as if they were their children, they can inherit property, the throw feast upon their marriages, etc. However, the way their ancestors got into the hand of the feudal lords is hear-breaking. A kunama or Kulo or Oromo were kidnapped by their own close relatives and then sold to merchants. The merchants then sold in open markets or export them.

However, the man really really exaggerated it.

በጥንት ባላባቱ ዘመን በኢትዮጵያ የባርያ ንግድ እንደ ነበር ታሪካዊ እውነታ ነው። ይህ ንግድ ደግሞ በተለያዩ የአገሪቱ አካባቢ ይፈጸም ነበር። ባሪያ ለውጭ ወይም ለአገር ውስጥ ገባያ ይቀርብ ነበር። ይሁን እንጅ በቤት አገልጋይነት በአገር ውስጥ የሚገዙ ባርያዎች የነበራቸው ህይወት ከጥቁር አሜሪካዎች ጋር የሚነጻጸር አይደለም። ጥቁር አሜሪካኖች ፊደል በእጃቸው ይዘው ከተገኙ ይቀጣሉ፤ይገረፋሉ፤ ነጭ ማፍቀር ወይም ማግባት አይችሉም። በኢትዮጵያ ግን የተለየ ነው። በኢትዮጵያ የነበረው የመደባዊ ( ንጥፍጣፍ/Social stratifications ) ደረጃ ነበር።

1ኛ) ባላባት ( ጨዋ' የሰው ልጅ)
2ኛ) ባላገር ( አፈር ገፊ - ገበሬ)
3ኛ) ነጋድራስ /ነጋዴ (መጫኛ ነካሽ)
4) ባሪያ ( አገልጋይ)
5ኛ) ቀጥቃጭ፤ ሸክላ ሰሪ፤አንጠረኛ ( ቡዳ out caste)

በሚል የተፈረጀ ነበር። ጋብቻ በዚህ የደረጃ ንጥፍጣፍ የተከለለ ቢሆንም ከ 1-4 ያሉት ሊጋቡ ይችላሉ። በጣም አስቸጋሪ መገለል የሚደርስበት 5ኛ ደረጃ የያዙት ቀጥቃጭ እና አንጠረኛ ናቸው። ከእራሳቸው ውጭ ማንም ጋር ጋብቻ አይፈጽሙም - አይችሉም ነበር።

ለምሳሌ የወሎው ንጉስ ሚካዔል ከባሪያ ወይም ገረድ የተወለዱ ነበሩ። በዚህ ምክንያት ነው ብዙ ኦሮሞ ናቸ የሚለው ትርክት። የእናታቸው ስም ገይቴ የሚባሉ የንጉስ ሚካዔል አባት ሴት ባሪያ ናቸው።

እንደ ታሪኩ ከሆነ ህጋዊ ሚስት በጽሎት ላይ እንቅልፍ ስላታለላቸው በዚያን ሰዐት ባሪያ ነቅታ ለጸሎተኞች ( ዱቃ) ሲካድሙ በነበረ ወቅት በረከቱን ስለቀሙ ነው ይባላል። የኢሳው አይነት መሆኑ ነው።

ልጅስ ተገኜ ከገረድ፤
ስሙንም አልነው ማመድ። የሚል ትንብይ ነበር። ከባርያ ተወለደ - ከእስልምና ወደ ክርስትና ተጠመቀ።

ይህ ማለት ባርያ በጥቁር አሜሪካ አንጻር በኢትዮጵያ መፈረጅ አይችልም። የባላብት ህጋዊ ልጅ መሆን ይችላል፤ስልጣን መያዝ ይችላል፤ መጋባት ይችላል፤ ሀብት መውረስ ይችላል - ልክ ከባሪዋ ገይቴ እንደተወልዱት ንጉስ ሚካዔል።

ለማንኛውም በአiትዮጵያ ጨካኝ የባርያ ከበርቴዎች

1ኛ) ጂማ አባጅፋር (ኦሮሞ፤ጃንጀሮ፤ኮሎ ) ሙልጭ አድረገው የሸጡ
2ኛ) ጦና የወላይታ ሲዳማ፤ ወዘተ የሸጠ
3ኛ ) አሉላ አባነጋ ( ቤኒ አሚር፤ ሳሆ፤ ኩናማ፤ ትግረ ) እንደ ከብት ለአረብ ይሸጡ ናቸው።

Exactly. She try to make ethiopia look like Jeff Crow America. The vast majority of ethiopians dont look like a gambelan

By the way every tribe has darker skin people but they are not referred to barya. A dark skin tigrean is not called barya nor a dark skin afar or oromo... only Kanuma Gumuz and Gambela are referred to Barya.. this typical agame defaming ethiopia not matter what I bet she supports LGBTQ...

And even in cities like Addis the majority are considered Qey tribes like Amhara Gurage Oromo and Tigray whom number 95% of Addis... ... are Gambelans who number 500,000 protesting to have their image in Ethio Airlines and in mainstream culture? Are the nilotics complaining?
