Cost of borrowing is too much and hidden fraud/theft by IMF is too obvious. This Hawk preys on desperate poor and rip off them.
Borrowing 16 billon while 50 ET Birr was 1 UD is not the same as borrowing 16 billion while 100 ET Birr is 1 USD. These hawks almost took half of the loan in real terms back to their pocket. The hidden theft on the principal is too obvious; sadly, the interest rate is without doubt anomalously high. This is almost an economic war not even sabotage.

IMF & World bank are the worst scammers in human history!

Check the link below. Interest on loans to poor countries is 0. And the interest is lower than usual. You must focus on dictator Abiy and his PP, source of Ethiopia's problem.

Abere,
Can you elaborate on your claim IMF stole 8 billion? How did they take it? In my opinion IMF has better things to do with its money than loan it to Ethiopia if it wanted to make profit. So I am perplexed by a common accusation against IMF while what we all see is countries all over the world begging IMF for loans day and night.

Educator,
I just used a simplistic illustration. Borrowing the same amount of money after ones own currency discounted by half of its original value would translate into the borrower lost 8 billion of the loan to the loaner (IMF).
There are dozens of hidden costs associated with it, but not so easy to financially account the loses associated with. IMF is a "Too Good To Be True" Loaner. Every loan accounts for the discount due to inflation to the original value of the principal amount, whether that being paid upfront or in an interest rate basis.
