By the way, there is nothing wrong to be a unionist so long as all the parties involved agreed to work for a genuine unity. Unity is strength. countries like U.S, China, Canada and Russia are powerful because they are countries that unite their ethnicities for a common agenda and interest. If there is that common interest in Ethiopia without the greed we have seen on Tigray and Oromia elites, unity is the best option.
If you have a house and your wife or children constantly tries to lit fire on it and destroy it, you can't have that union. You will always have the fire figher role (Typical of the Amhara doing for years trying to appease and stabilize the country). In situations like that you might as well build your own and shun them away.
Tegaru and Oromos are primitive societies and they haven't developed yet to think about building empire or large powerful state. Mind you the Persians and the Romans passed that stage 2000 years ago and created a system of governance for each powerful provinces to work for a common agenda.

Hi Misraq,
I am not saying unitary state system is bad. I am not saying federal state system is better than unitary either. Both systems can be democratic and work well. Japan and France have unitary state system. U.S and Canada have federal state system. All 4 countries are strong democratic countries. The title of the subject needs to be read with emphasis on "at any cost" element.
In regards to union, let alone Ethiopian regions, the whole Horn African region needs to be in some kind of union
based on the free will of the countries. Even big European countries are working on their brand of union to be highly relevant and effective at global level. East African countries are on the process of drafting a constitution for the The East African Federation - a federal sovereign state consisting of the eight member states.

By the way Sam Ebalalehu is affable now. It is not a name handed over to me by a political party. Just let leave it at that. Your headline reads the people you cited could
“ name and shame the unitary system.” But that was not your intention. Your aim was to discredit those who support the “ unitary system at any cost.” But why is that in unitary system cost is associated with it ? It would be advisable to name the cost England and France endured by choosing a unitary system. It would be commendable to think beyond the slogans that tribal politicians spread around to encourage a healthy debate.
Sarcasm if you are unable to write a clear headline, your whole writing might fall in pieces is a fact.
You seem to do not know what you believe. Come back to us when you do.
By the way, it is not right to write about someone that you know nothing about.
I haven’t written a word objecting federalism. Tribal federalism, yes. That is because it is a certain animosity breeder which politicians cultivate. Three decades have passed since ethnic federalism has been implemented in Ethiopia. It is probably the only country now where people are being forced out of their villages, kidnapped, and killed just because they are from the “ wrong” tribe.

Hi Sam,
It is good to know you are still around. Affable? አዲስ ትግል በአዲስ ማልያ ይሻላል ብለህ ነው? አስተሳሰቡ ካልተቀየረ ማልያ መቀያየር ምን ይጠቅማል ብለህ ነው?
I think I have to explain what I meant by 'at any cost'. I have a good example to exlain how I used the phrase. Let me remind you about the Amhara elite named Prof. Tingirtu Gebretsadik. He is saying he would sacrifice 40 million Amharas to save 2 million Amharas.
at all costs = regardless of the price to be paid or the effort needed.

Why the list is needed ? If you think what I think you think, you are out of your mind. They are not coming back. No need to have in your file their “ enemies list.”
