bs it was the holiday of all gurage. Fanatics like you came and told them to stop. Your problem is not knowing history. Original Gurage were not muslims. It is grang ahmed and the 1/2 ሃድያ አስን ኢንጃሞ together with other eastern muslim influences gurage almost half or more converted to moderate muslim. Gurage for most part is historically part of the abyssinian empire who lost connection following the above mentioned Oromo and muslim wars but Menelik rightfully included it into shoa province as part of ethiopian empire. What is the fate of Gurage in a scenario if ethiopia breaks apart is worth asking as civil war can ensue all over the country. That is what gurage should ask itself and choose the best alliance as well as establish its unity. Ethiopia could continue in chao in the status quo however rich countries we like it or not may not allow utter disintegration of the country for their own good such fear of migrants and further regional chao. To my understanding gurage won’t benefit from ethnic politics in ethiopia but from a democratic citizen based union. Maintaining local language, culture etc can be done even under citizen based union.
