SWOT analysis is an assessment method used by individuals, organizations & governments to identify their Strengths & weaknesses and Opportunities and Threats. Somalia's official SWOT report does not state Somalia's strengths, weaknesses and opportunities but the official document states Somalila's threats.

What are the threats that are faced by Somalia?

(2) SEPARATISM
(3) STATE FRAGILITY
(4) FOREIGN INTERFERENCE
(5) OPEN BORDERS
(6) CLIMATE CHANGE
(7) SOCIAL CRISIS
(8) CYBER SECURITY

Probably the list of Somalia's weaknesses could be worse than its threat. Given these hard facts, how is Hassan Sheik going to materialize his bombastic war threat on Ethiopia?

Here is my heuristic guess about Somalia ( exclude Somaliland & Puntland - they are not part of Somalia). See score card (out of 10 pts)

Weakness: -8

Opportunity: +3 pts
Threats: -10

Net Result: -14
That means Somalia as a country is non-existent because the weakness and threats swamped its zero to nothing strength and opportunity. I could have listed each of these facts but dashboard tells what is the underlying fact. These so-called Djibouti, Somalia, Eritrea fake Western and loud mouth Arabs created countries will never ever stand on their feet even in geological years - because these areas never been differentiated from the mainland of Ethiopia. All these years Somalia has been the condom of other countries, now Al Shabab is wearing them and fukking doing its terror.

Heuristics is one of my most favorite concepts. It comes from the Greek word, 'Eureka'. Actually the word is of a Semitic root and its original meaning was not 'I found it', it was 'I did it'. Eureka - rule of thumb is considered by some engineering experts to be the core methodology of engineering and invention. As a general method of engineering, it means working with incomplete knowledge.

As for the SWOT analysis of Somalia, you are on the money. Consider this - threats are supposed to be external factors. Weaknesses are internal factors.

Now look at those so called threat factors listed above. They are by and large internal factors; hence they are weaknesses rather than threats.

TERRORISM - Al shabab is not an external invader
(2) SEPARATISM - the independent regions of somaliland, Puntland, etc are Somalia's internal factors
(3) STATE FRAGILITY - state fragility is not a threat, it the weakness of the Somalia state & society
(4) FOREIGN INTERFERENCE - Foreign interference yes but that itself is a consequence of the fragility of the Somalia state & society
(5) OPEN BORDERS - open borders - may be
(6) CLIMATE CHANGE - climate change yes
(7) SOCIAL CRISIS - is totally internal weakness
(8) CYBER SECURITY - yes,

So out of the 8 so called threat 61/2 are actually Weaknesses !!! I think that was the point you were making. In short, Somalia doesn't know what SWOT analysis means!!!
