I have no doubt this farsighted and compelling rational on the future role the Ethiopian Navy in securing the critical sea routes of the Red Sea might be be the Preamble of the Ethio-Somaliland Historic Agreement that is about to be signed in weeks if not in days. I must say these Somalilanders are clear eyed, clear thinking folks! I say Ebo Yebo to them

A most dangerous and expansionist dream that fortunately will remain only a dream. The Red Sea has owners who will protect and safeguard it and Ethiopia is not one of them! What Ethiopians should worry about now is not the future of the Red Sea but the future of their own nation. A fractured nation that is unravelling at all its seams should be the last to worry about imperialist aspirations. We have a saying in Tigrigna "ጽምብላሊዕ፡ መዓኮራ ዘይከደነት ምድሪ ከደነት" (A bu.tterfly covers the ground instead of covering its a.s.s)
