I absolutely agree with you that the classical music of the Middle East, Turkey, and Iran is depressing. I haven't been to Greece yet. I've travelled throughout the Central Asia, and on this adventure, it involved stoppin in every village, town, driving hundreds of thousands of miles. from central China all the way to Istanbul, with a bit of zigzag to Azerbaïdjan

I think, it has to do that the rhythms of sudanese music drives from Nubian traditional music and not classical Arab music.

Yes the Sudanese music is absolutely beautiful. When all the African countries, specially the 120 million Ethiopian rats type of music was beating their chests as drums with chimpanzees screaming vocals and jumping on trees branches, the Eritreans and Sudanese music were and still are out of this world….food for the souls.
Here is one of my favorite Sudanese song in the honor of their second home Eritrea with their mesmerizing voices.

I actually hope that Eritrea and the Sudan get united as one country.

We in the HOA grew up listening and enjoying the sudanese songs. Even our best artists were imitating the sudanese songs.

This great country considered to be the basket of bread to the whole arab world is being ruined now by two illiterate SOB generals fighting for power. As a result, proxy war is being waged in their country by the SOB UAE prince and to some extent by the dictatorial regime of Egypt.

It is difficult to tell who has the upper hand on this on going war. Every month you see changes on the ground and this civil war will go on and on.

For us Eritreans, we have to expect that thousands of sudanese refugees will seek shelter in Eritrea. So far Eritrea was spared.

But why now?

I tell you, the rapid forces of warlord Hamidti have occupied the big city wed medeni some days ago and of course their next stop will be Kessela which is located a stone-throw-away from the Eritrean town Teseney. The citizens of kessela who happen to be mostly bejas and who are loyal to the other warlord al-burhan have pledged to fight the hamidty troops who most of them originate from Darfor and Chad. So eritrea should expect the influx of refugees in thousands.

Your assertion is also shred by many northern Sudanese, or the Arabs as some Sudanese call them. The Nubian musical rhythm is also present in Algerian, Moroccan, Tunisian, and Mauritanian music.

You love to insult and demean the great and the forever Ethiopia who boldly travels all the way to other's home country and offers peace and freedom just for free, so that others may become healthy, wealthy and happy forever. But from your mood and talks you seem to go for the angry bulls club to hate all of these good peace offers, being healthy, wealthy and happy for ever so as to become an ordinary street corner routine foul mouthed jolly jack. Not true.Wardi's music genre is classified as Sudanese, Nubian, Arabic music, not Reggae. In the end all musics and songs are good though liking or not liking is a matter of taste just like paintings and drawings.

To endorse what you've said once more, here's a song of Fairuz, a widely considered vocalist in the Middle East mainly among old people, is hell depressing to many Arabs.

It's also important to note that in classical Middle Eastern, Sudanese and Somali music, it's rather the weight of lyrics and reflection that count more than the musical rithym of songs.
