From 1901 on, a British oil company enjoyed a monopoly on sale and production of Iranian oil. It was the most profitable British business in the world. Most Iranians lived in poverty while the wealth generated from Iranian oil played a decisive role in maintaining Britain at the top of the world. In 1951, Iranian Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh pledged to throw the company out of Iran, reclaim the petroleum reserves and free Iran from foreign powers.
In 1952, Mosaddegh nationalized the British Oil Company and became a national hero. The British, however, were outraged and accused him of stealing. The British unsuccessfully sought punishment from the International Court of Justice and the United Nations, sent warships to the Persian Gulf, and finally imposed a crushing embargo on the Iranian people.
On 20 January 1953, U.S. Secretary of State John Foster Dulles and his brother, C.I.A. Director Allen Dulles, told their British counterparts that they were ready to move against Mosaddegh. In their eyes, any country not decisively allied with the United States was a potential enemy. Iran had immense oil wealth, a long border with the Soviet Union, and a nationalist prime minister.
According to the CIA's declassified documents and records, some of the most notorious mobsters from neighboring countries paid by the CIA were brought into Tehran in buses and trucks to stage anti-Mosaddegh riots. Dressed as Iranians the mobsters went from home to home killing civilians while shouting Pro-Mosaddegh slogans to mislead the Iranian people into thinking Mosaddegh had ordered the massacres.
Around 300 people were killed because of the conflict. Mosaddegh was arrested, tried and convicted of treason by the Shah's military court. On 21 December 1953, he was sentenced to life in prison.
They can't bus agame terrorists into a well-defended Eritrea, so out of desperation, they decided to have the show in their own countries to give them emotional victory that comes out of negative news coverage and demonization which the Eritrean people have developed strong immunity against. IQ Matters!
