I know very little about the long term ambitions of present day Turkey.

First, it has become an Islamist country and power. So Turkey's mission is the expansion of Islam under the cover of modernity.

second, Turkey's primary motivation is money! Economic dominance, economic expansion .

Third, ድመት መንኩሳ አመሏን አትረሳ ነው ። The Ottoman Empire was big and one of the longest. Remember, it was Ottoman that armed and financed Gragn Mehammed and Islamized Ethiopia.

So in my view, Turkey has a semi-global imperial ambitions. Iran also has same ambition as the result ancient Persian Empire. So the two have common vision of at least controlling the middle East and Africa. Both Turkey and Iran are non-Arabs. They consider themselves European but not accepted as one due to their Islamist non-democratic culture.

So consider Turkey a dangerous slave trading imperialistic regional power.

Can Turkey rebuild the old Ottoman Empire? No. Can it become one of the 2nd level global power? I think so.

Turkey is every where in Africa.

The UAE were expelled from djibouti . Somaliland is their only strategic place in the horn of Africa. In fact they dislike djibouti.

UAE and somaliland have exactly the same economical goals. In fact they respect the somaliland passport compare to the Somalian one. We can book their visa online.

The only unique difference is we have no relationship with china , Taiwan is actually our best friend in the world even more than Ethiopia and UAE.
