It doesn't make any sense that a Galla/Gurage that has been a second class citizen in his own fuc.king country for centuries suddenly gets so obsessed with a breakaway region of Somalia!

Fiyameta, the Issaias slave and concubine, you better talk about the suffering of our Eritrean people in the Arab world and under the savage Arab slave Abeed Issaias Afeworki, before you talk about Ethiopians.
Ethiopians will face their own problems bravely as they often do.

UK is the former colonial ruler of Somaliland and SLR will remain within the UK sphere of influence. If UK considers recognition US will do the same.

President Hassan Sheikh Stresses Somalia’s Potential and Sovereignty at Italy-Africa Summit

(29-01-24) ROME (Halqabsi News) — President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of the Federal Republic of Somalia delivered a compelling address at the Italy-Africa Summit in Rome on Monday, emphasising Somalia’s bright future and its effective role in regional and global dynamics.

In his speech, President Mohamud highlighted the abundant investment opportunities and resources available in Somalia. He emphasized the nation’s potential to contribute meaningfully to regional and global markets, citing these assets as pivotal for both the region and the world.

A core theme of the President’s address was the critical importance of international cooperation based on mutual respect for the rule of law, and the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries. President Mohamud’s message resonated with the audience, reinforcing Somalia’s commitment to these fundamental tenets.

The President took the opportunity to shed light on the complex issue of migration, a phenomenon deeply rooted in human history and influenced by various factors including conflict, poverty, and climate change. He particularly focused on the situation in Somalia, where factors like insecurity, limited economic opportunities, and the impacts of climate change are key drivers of migration.

President Mohamud underscored Africa’s substantial contribution to Europe’s reconstruction and growth, facilitated by migration. He elaborated on how both continents benefit from this exchange through remittances, knowledge transfer, and diaspora investment. However, he also expressed serious concerns over the dangerous journeys migrants undertake across the Mediterranean, often falling prey to human traffickers.

Highlighting the necessity of respecting each nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, President Mohamud warned of the risks posed by any African state attempting to annex the territory of another. He specifically referred to Ethiopia’s unsuccessful attempts in Somalia, noting such actions could lead to heightened tensions, conflict, and regional instability, further exacerbating migration and security challenges.

In conclusion, President Mohamud stressed that the Africa-Italy partnership must be based on respect and legality. He warned that actions violating these principles, like territorial annexation, would not only undermine the partnership but also pose a threat to regional stability and progress.
