i am kinda a football fan i watch football games i like the game , i bet on football matches and i was watching the African cup
And what suprised me not a single east african is in the African cup with the exception of Tanzania
We in the Horn are even worse Ethiopia Eritrea Djibouti Somalia , never even qualify why is that is it the muscles we lack. Its not disinterest since football is very popular in our countries we all love english premier league and laliga. We follow it closely. if we were like the usa the americans dont like football they like baseball and basketball and ice hockey and American football.
But we in east africa love football and yet we are so bad at it. So what gives. Our goverments need to train or hire Foreign coaches to get this done. We need to qualify , or create our own east african cup. If we cant compete with the rest of Africa indeed.

Because Egypt is the coach. Soccer needs team work, but HoA are trained to be divided and selfish. If there is greed and no team spirit, and me me only everyone runs but go home with zero result. Why are east Africans so bad at Football

Lack of investment, and the fact that governments use sports as a tool to distract their citizens from the dictatorship and bad governance in the country, rather than promoting sports per se.

I know Eritreans are as talented as any soccer players in the world. In the 60’s, the Ethiopian team with 80% Eritrean players, dominated Africa. There are some excellent Eritrean players in European teams as well. What is Eritreans advantage ? Eritreans are very fast. That helps them dominate on the offensive side. Players like Mengistu Worqu from Gondar were excellent as speedy and tactical offensive players were. Generally, long distance runners belong to Oromos, Tigrayans and Eritreans as well.I am sure, Amharas are good too.Having said that,Kenyans and Somalis are first rate runners. Western Africans seem to be muscular like their brethren, African Americans as well. What is that all mean, Horn African countries will dominate African soccer games in the future. Cycling belongs to Eritrea.

Yeah Eritreans have some good players. Even till this day. We have the likes of Alexander Isaac who plays at new castle. There was also another one in the mls in the USA . There was an Eritrean who played in the 1990s at Napoli though he was half Italian. But we need to be better some how in the long run
Our nuritrision and our way of behaving and eating habits and gym habits need to be better in order to compete with the negeo gene indeed
