Abiy is a bad leader but we should support him when he is doing good. Case in point is Somaliland
I don't know why most Ethiopian YouTubers blindly stain all his works?
Somalia from the beginning, it has been a problem to Ethiopia's kingdoms. By any means anything that comes pro Ethiopia's interest should be applauded. Anything that will decimates our enemy should be encouraged. The notion that Somaliland to be an independent country is beneficial not only to Ethiopia but also to the horn of Africa. Above all Ethiopia's access to sea is another crucial thing that we should behind it.

It is amazing how people think. This mad man is wiping out his own people with an absolute cruelty. this guy should be hanged in front the Ethiopian people. I will say this, TPLF was 100% better than this mad man. People thinks this port thing with the Somaliland is to the advantage of Ethiopia, wrong! he is betting for UAE. He is doing what a slave does to its master. UAE loaned 13 billion dollars, in cash, in weapons and by building useless and worthless parks and most of all building new castle for Abiy while people are being killed by drones and people are dying of hunger. Some people are just unable to think. Shame on you Abaymado.Abaymado wrote: ↑18 Jan 2024, 13:44I don't know why most Ethiopian YouTubers blindly stain all his works?

Many soldiers who return home from combat duties say, for reasons that are unknown to them, they tend to miss the deafening, chaotic roar of gunshot noise of war. And it takes them a while to get used to the quietness that peace offers.
I'm sorry to say this, but Ethiopia without self-made enemies is the same way.

Abaymado has a point. Some regulars here in ER assume all of a sudden because Abiy has had a fallout with Isayes, he turned to Somaliland to secure the claimed agreement. I do not think that theory is correct. The two assumptions might be wrong. The ER regulars, in most cases, are not savvy enough to understand the region politics. They strive on emotions. I believe before the agreement made public countries like US and England should know it is coming. The belief that Abiy and the Somaliland politicians secretly concocted this agreement is a fallacy. That means the recognition of Somaliland as an independent country is coming. That is a good thing.
Re: Abiy is a bad leader but we should support him when he is doing good. Case in point is Somaliland
What people are missing the main point. Eritrea offered port for Ethiopia to use, if that was point of contention. Abiy refuses Eritrean ports and went with plan of UAE. UAE was stationed in Assab for five years and when the Five years term ended, UAE wanted to extend the lease for ten more years and as sharp as Eritreans are, they said NO and asked them to leave. UAE must avenge this grudge through none but the headless and toothless Abiy. The original plan was to attack Eritrea and capture the Port of Assab. However, once the mad man recognized the tenacity and the readiness of the Eritreans, he abandoned his plan, and he accepted the plan B of UAE. UAE have a great grudge with Djibouti, due to Djibouti kicking out UAE. In fact there is still a court case where UAE suing Djibouti for millions of dollars. UAE plan is simple. bring DP to Somalia land, build a port and let Ethiopia rent the port and kill the business of Djibouti. So, Ethiopia is not acting for self-interest but the interest of UAE. If you think how Abiy could pay back the 13 billions of dollars UAE extended to him, i.e. Abiy has to bend and take all the way.Fiyameta wrote: ↑18 Jan 2024, 14:24Many soldiers who return home from combat duties say, for reasons that are unknown to them, they tend to miss the deafening, chaotic roar of gunshot noise of war. According to your theory, then, if and when Tigray want to be independent and then Somalia will return the favor. the same thing for Oromia and Amara. you don't violet international law.Sam Ebalalehu wrote: ↑18 Jan 2024, 14:27Abaymado has a point. You go and support him. But we don't. People supported him against TPLF and the result is ? ____________________

By now, every Ethiopian knows that any attempts by Ethiopia to attack Eritrea is a suicide mission. And I don't think the Ethiopian people are foolish enough to risk losing their country. We Eritreans are very patient people, but out patience has a limit. Look at what we did to the agame when they tested our resolve. 1.5 mil.ZEMEN wrote: ↑18 Jan 2024, 14:42What people are missing the main point. Re: Abiy is a bad leader but we should support him when he is doing good. Case in point is Somaliland
The UAE got kicked out to Djibouti and moved next door to the Berbera port in the Somaliland Kilil of Somalia. Now the UAE wants to take customers away from Djibouti, and what better way to do that than luring Ethiopia away from Djibouti's port and into the Berbera port. The UAE will make $1.5 billion from Ethiopia using the Berbera port, and Ethiopia will make enemies. Is that a good thing?Sam Ebalalehu wrote: ↑18 Jan 2024, 14:27Abaymado has a point. The most and first responsibility of a government is to protect its people not the people are killed by the government.

And that's good for somaliland . Ethiopia can use any commercial port. But somaliland offers more freedom for the Ethiopian Navy.
