Amhara genocide versus Tigray genocide

Post by Deqi-Arawit » 13 Jan 2024, 05:37

People should give credit where it is due. Do people remember how Tigrayans were fervently advocating for the hashtag #Tigraygenocide on Twitter? They mobilized their entire Tigrayan diaspora, including their immediate cousins, the Eritrean snowflakes, to keep the hashtag trending. Additionally, they conducted demonstrations in the West to highlight what they perceived as injustice to their people, despite they were the one who were the instigators to the culprit of their ordeal.

Now, lets look at the the Amhara community in comparison . The U.S. states of Maryland and Virginia have a larger population of Ethiopians of Amhara descent than the entire Tigrayan diaspora combined. However, they are numb, there is no mobilization and there is no sense of urgency to bring attention to their plight. The question arises: Is the reported Amhara genocide in Wollega a propaganda effort to tarnish the image of the current Gala Ethiopian Prime Minister, or are Amhara are just egocentric and opportunists people , caring only about their personal well-being and showing indifference to the collective well-being of their people?

You’re not alone in confusing Ethiopian nationalist with Amhara nationalist. Will Hamassiens demonstrate for Hamassien or most likely for the cause of Eritrea? You are calling Ethiopian nationalists as Amhara nationalists and comparing them with Tigray nationalists.

Most „Amharas“ in the diaspora come from Addis and other big cities and are mostly Ethiopian nationalist. They would demonstrate for anything Ethiopian but have a hard time identifying themselves as „tribalists“.

The Amhara nationalism is a very new phenomenon that was born in the Amhara region. The new generation of Amharas in the Amhara region were thought to have their own kilil, their own distinct identity etc. That’s why all the genuine Amhara nationalists are those who were born and raised in Amhara region. The others are not Amhara nationalists. It’s like telling a Hamassien from Asmara to go out and demonstrate for the cause of Hammasien. I would guess, that would feel weird.

Having said that, the true Amhara nationalists in fact do demostate in many european and US cities but they are few in number. Their main stronghold is in the Amhara region not in the diaspora.

Finally, if anyone thinks the tigrean demonstration has had any effect on the western governments then he/she doesn’t understand anything about the western governments. The only reason why western governments were so active in Tigray was because of their interest to see TPLF come to power and has nothing to do some tigreans rolling on the streets.

In my view, any demonstration in the west is a waste of time and resources and no demonstration ever changed anything. The question always is whether the western governments have an interest to actively do something or not. The western medias also follow that and you get attention. Demonstration of Ethiopians or Eritreans are just useless and have never achieved anything.

Your argument is not only flawed but also dishonest, Lets say you are amhara born and raised in Addis abeba and you hear news that amhara in some part of Ethiopia are killed because of ethnic affiliation, Are you going to brush it off by saying I dont care about these amhara, after all I am a nationalist Ethiopian who only care about all Ethiopians?

Brother Deqi,

1 You are confusing Amhara nationalism to Ethiopian nationalism. Two separate groups and movement. Ethiopian nationalism is toothless. It's supporters in North American and Europe were Abiy supporters till yesterday. They are large and not only Amhara but many city born other ethnicities and mixed ones. They are politically unsavvy and all they care is drop a few words about unity, buy their air ticket to Addis then chill, eat tire siga, drink and f^ck and come back to normal. But Amhara nationalism is the force that is behind Fano from the get go. This is the force that says we need to focus on ourselves first and fight as Amhara. The first thing this nationalism did was make its supporters understand that Amhara need to distance itself from ESAT, Birhanu Nega, Lidetu...etc it was a challenge but once you free peoples mind the road is easier and we see the fruit now.

2 The Tigray Genocide hashtag and demonstrations was supported by western influencers. Western medias were behind it including quite a lot of senators, MPs, journalists and policy makers.

The west fully know that the Adwa victory is orchestrated and led by Amhara. Believe it or not, they don't want Amhara to be near power. Similar diplomatic effort was made like the Tigrayans did. But it all failed because the west refuse to listen or help. And you my swedish friend could not listen to by design

Ato Misraq!
A person can't be an Ethiopian before he becomes an amhara.

in regard to the rest of your article, We have a saying in Eritrea "Qomesh adey hankuluni" that is a person who always find excuse to his shortcoming instead of acknowledging and finding remedy to it. and let me prove you totally wrong to your assertion that westerners were behind the hashtag of Tigraygenocide. Do you remember the hashtag #nomore which was founded by one Tigray woman by the name Hermela Aregawi and an Eritrean doctor and do you remember how it gained momentum and western coverage? Where is Amhara equivalent to #nomore movement? is it so difficult to create a username on twitter and make your voice heard?

Furthermore, when the leeches breached the line of the Eritrean Defense force |EDF] in the third front, Eritreans all from Scandinavia gathered in the Swedish capital of Stockholm and stormed the surrounding of the Swedish parliament to highlight the plight of our people back home.

Tigrayan diaspora are in ties with TPLF Elites. Eritrean Diaspora are in ties with PDFJ

When your boy Isaias in Asmara tells you to protest in London you protest when he tells you to sit down you sit. When he tells you to shut up you shut up.

When your boy in mekele debrets tells you to protest in Denver you protest roll on the streets and when he tells you shut up you shut up.

The Amhara diaspora don't have ties with a party or elite. Since Fano was never a party it never gained the support of diaspora properly. As they were raised in Addis Ababa and were taught anti-regionalism as Misrak said these diaspora are Addis Ababa centric

They only care about Addis

As long as Abiy rules Addis everything is fine and good for them. They only care about having access to bole airport and Sheraton hotel . They raise their children clueless about Ethiopia . They only teach their children how to eat injera and like a few Amharic words with some myths about 3000 year old dynasty.

It is not that the world does not know about Amhara genocide, but the world does not care about Amhara people. The last 33 years in Ethiopia are marked by the genocide of Amhara. Sadly, the world has been supporting and enabling TPLF keep doing its heinous crime against Amhara which later intensified by OLF now. Embarrassingly some even mocked the TPLF election was 99.9% democratic which in fact OLF-PP claimed the same. አውቆ የተደበቀ ቢጠሩት አይሰማም. The question is why? Is that because the world against justice and the injustice committed against Amhara is justice served for their own sakes? I think Amhara's friend Amhara itself, and should kick out Orommuma and when it gets there this will end. Keep calm and carry on the fight to remove OLF and TPLF slaughter house of ethnic region and mafia constitution - crafted by anti-Ethiopian and anti-Amhara conflict engineers.

bro the amhara nationalists have already stopped the wollega genocide by arming amhara residents in wellega. with the exception of may be attacks on the roads they have freed their area thanks to fano supplying and training them. the true amharas are walking the talk, sacrificing and fighting on the ground.

forget the dc ethiopian freaks. they are mixed anyways and the only time they become active is if they feel “ethiopia” is in danger.

you are barking on the wrong tree. in fact the dc ethiopiansts are trying to hijack fano and make it an “ethiopian organization”

you really don’t know the difference

Brother Deqi,

the #nomore hashtag was a genius idea by Hermela and the only reason it scared the westerners is because African & South American activists started to dance with the idea. The genius white men thawrted it in the way they knew best. i.e they lift the genocide hook from Abiy in return to he stop the noise. Zero expense for them. Abiy invited Hermela and many of the activists, rewarded them with cash and gave them media coverage to boost their ego with the order that says stop it now since mission is accomplished. the Ethiopianists are basically like that. You can trigger them with a mouse click and you can stop them again with a mere mouse click.

As to the Amharas nationalism, you have seen it and you will see it more my friend. I won't waste my time explaining as the struggle and the awakening will speak to itself. #tigraygenocide #ypfdg or #nomore all of it was just a hype of few months or years. We know Taliban didn't need those hashtags so does Houthis. So your idea that says the only way is digital #hashtag and western street demonstrations, you still have lots to learn. For us, we know the West doesn't prefer us to dominate in the region so we do it with our means.

Misrak

Deqi Arawit is one of those brigade Nihamedu whining on an Ethiopian forum about Eritrea. Just like #NoMore died so will any social media movement. No matter how much Tigrayans did it did not work on the long run because their generals thought they can capture Ethiopia instead of securing Meles Zenawis Kilil 1. As you said Houthi and hezbollah didn't become powerful via hashtag and digital warfare nor did they rely on diaspora support. Palestine has won the social media war but lost the real war....

Be honest and tell the truth at least once in your life time, nothing but the truth once. There is no traces of genocide in the Amhara region being governed by the gallant Amharas themselves. On the contrary what we keep hearing day and night from the so called outlaw bandit fanos is that they have killed and captured endless numbers of military, police and militia forces of the federal and regional government which means committing ongoing genocides on the government, according to their own (fano) public loud and vocal propaganda. In that sense it must be them who should be arrested and taken to the International Criminal Court (ICC), Guantanamo or Kallitti palace. They even assassinate Ethiopians by labeling them half cast or Dikala

Fano took to the forest because the Ethiopian government made peace with the Tigrian force while fano renegades were conspiring and preparing to overthrow the Amhara regional government, and force the military to march to Addis Ababa and take over the federal government and Meneliks' palace for the redneck parochial fano hooligans. The West and the rest know perfectly well about such backward barberian chauvinist ragtag zealots of ala Joseph Koney of Uganda. Fano needs to put down their rusty useless guns and go to learn how to live in peace, help themselves, their families, their communities, their country and the world. በቃ፥ በቃ!

Yet again. you are missing the point.

Personally, I don't have a clear picture of how the Amhara are fighting against the troops of the Gala PM in Ethiopia. However, considering that you and others have mentioned of Amhara genocide in Wollega and the destruction of 800,000 homes in Addis Ababa to bring about a demographic change in favor of Oromos, where is the voice of the Amhara diaspora? How can people remain silent when their kith and kin are being killed or forcibly displaced? That is the question.

Not even spontaneous demonstration and display to the world that your blood is boiled or register on twitter and expose the fake doctor?

In regard to the significance of twitter or demonstration, you should consider them as soft power...Fano are doing their share in regard to Hard power, and it is up to the amhara diaspora to do the soft power.
