Somaliland needs only to pay Seyoum Teshome instead of lobbying many institutions and other countries to attain their "self-justified" sovereignty, while spending perhaps a big sum of money.
We know now why the current president of Somalia is acting like a rabbit-dog ever since the news of the recent signing of the MoU between Ethiopia and Somaliland was heard. The Ambition of
Grande Somalia is finally dashed!
In September 1940 he even announced to the Somali people in Italy of having created an Italian Grande Somalia inside his Italian Empire.
The fact that the "union between Somaliland and Somalia was never ratified" and also malfunctioned when it went into action from 1960 to 1990, makes Somaliland’s search for recognition historically unique and self-justified in African political history,

First of the Somali grande wasnt an italian Empire or inspired by the Italians
or greater Somalia . it was the British Secretary of state who actually insisted that the Somalis be allowed to be under one Nation.
The italians never advanced into British East Africa in Kenya they captured the British Somaliland how ever but not British east Africa.
As for Somalilanders seceding isnt going to Fly and the reason is Somalis all share the same culture and faith , there is no need to separate and if it came to it has to be decided by Somalis. It cant be decided by Ethiopia or any other country thats why nocountry after their unilitral declaration of independence no country on the planet have recognised them apart from Taiwan who are also Unrecognised so that doesnt count

Here is the how the Amharic saying goes:
“የራሷ ወጥ እያረረባት የሰው ታማስላለች" worry about the mess your OPDO created in your country.
Your ጨቅላው PM is currently fighting 6 plus major wars within his borders and yet he wants to ignite another war in neighboring countries. What are you PeePee goons smoke? You don’t even have good and well trained military that can’t even win one single war and yet here you are itching to ignite another. Does the ጨቅላው have death-wishes?

EUም በጠራራ ፀሓይ ተወርዶዋል።
“In the case of Somaliland, insistence by the African Union on the increasingly abstract notion of the unity and
territorial integrity of the Somali Republic, with Somalilanders governed again from Mogadishu, is both unrealistic and unsupported by more than twenty years of state practice. Any attempt to re-impose centralized control by Mogadishu would almost certainly open a new chapter in the Somali civil war.”
Louise Arbor, President & CEO of the International Crisis Group (2011)
2011 Brenthurst Foundation Study Report5
In 2011, the Brenthurst Foundation published a Study Report on the consequences of international
recognition for Somaliland. It stated that:
• “Recognition of Somaliland would be a most cost-effective means to ensure security in an
otherwise troubled and problematic region.”
• “At a time when ‘ungoverned spaces’ have emerged as a major source of global concern,
not least in this region of the world, it is deeply ironic that the international community deny
itself the opportunity to extend the reach of global governance in a way that would be both
beneficial to itself, and to the people of Somaliland.”
• “For Africa, Somaliland’s recognition should not threaten a ‘Pandora’s box’ of secessionist
claims in other states. Instead it offers a means to positively change the incentives for better
governance, not only for Somaliland, but also in south-central Somalia.”
• “Recognition would illustrate that African borders, far from being sources of insecurity, can be
a source of enhanced state capacity.”
Ethiopia's records:
• In June 2007, Ethiopia was the first foreign government to officially refer to Somaliland as a
sovereign state and its President as Head of State during a conference.8
• Ethiopia has an established office and diplomatic Counsellor in Hargeisa.
• Somaliland and Ethiopia have close trade ties – the port at Berbera is the second-most
important harbour, after Djibouti, for imports to and exports from landlocked Ethiopia.
• Ethiopian Airlines has regular scheduled flights to Berbera.

The real question for you is why are the PP clowns suddenly so much concerned about Somaliland? If Abiy and his PP cadres were really concerned about the people of Somaliland, they would have recognized them without any quid pro quo. What Abiy and his supporters are doing is called political prostitution. Prostitutes are despised precisely because they sell themselves for short-term gain. And now we hear that even Agegenew Teshager, the house speaker, is refused to go out of the country because he may not return. Ethiopia is dying before our eyes!

AU failed to fulfil its duty and created the current over heated ado, it is responsible.
And you can never live without ቆርጦ ቀጥል
“The people of Somaliland have worked extremely hard to rebuild their country and community, and they
deserve our help and support.”
Sir Tony Baldry MP, former UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office Undersecretary of State (2004)
This thread tells why US and UK never opposed to the recent MoU between Ethiopia and Somaliland.

Somalia refused to recognise somaliland , at the same time it failed to either take over , or give financial benefit. For 33 years Somalia can't even stand on it's own feet . Ethiopia must intervene this . Because it effects it's future. I believe Somalia have no rights to exist. It must be divided between Kenya and Ethiopia. How many years we keep the Somali peaple underdeveloped and in constant wars. Somalia must be dissolved. We are just like any east African tribe. You are not different from amhara or Oromo or Kikuyu. I believe Kenya is doing a favour for Somali peaple , if they annex all jubaland. Atleast they can develop the land better than Somalia.

Ethiopia cant give u recognition if Ethiopia wanted to give recognition if it believed in ur cause it would have done decades ago. but they didnt dont know why but the reason it is scared to either lose its influence in Somalia proper. And it doesnt want to open a can of worms. Because if Somaliland breaks away then gallas somalis in ethiopia sidamo also want to break away. The only solution is re unite with Somalia. or Capture Mogadishu and then sign the independence of Somaliland with gun point. The same way the EPLF did in Addis Ababa. T
hey captured Addis ababa forced the Woyanes to sign of their referendum on independence even though the Tigrayans supported their independence , But for semantics and other possibilities the EPLF kept a force in addis ababa up to 1994 and then got its independence. The only way i see Somaliland ever gaining recognition. Is to strong arm Somalia to allow u to go ur separate way which is very unlikely. They will just let you go. Or force them thats the other option the 3rd option keep ur head down and submit to Somalia and live under them . There is no fourth option.

Obviously Somalia can't cupture hargeisa , and somaliland can't take over Mogadishu . That's why we brought third parties to end the circus for good. Ethiopia should do what they got to do, and let's see what Somalia can do to Us. We will never accept our peaple to be brought back to the 7th century mentality. The possibility of alshabaab taking over Somalia is very highl and we don't want to be exposed to that danger. We Will rather take all risks today than wait for an other 33 years. We are not giving Somalia any more chance to further destabilise somaliland .

well time will tell the Galla chim abiye ahmed how ever cant be trusted how many people have he crossed he crossed the Eritreans during the war in tigray. he crossed the Tigrayans that brought him up as a son during the hey days of meles zenawi. He backstabbed the Amhara who helped him defeat the Tigrayans. Two months ago he was signing cooperation deals with Somalia, And now he is willing to recognise Somaliland independence See the pattern he might just cross you to , you never know dear lad.
