When the UAE was fighting a war in Yemen, it signed a deal with Eritrea to park its naval and air force fleet at the Assab Port for $1 billion dollars a year in parking fees. The UAE also spent billions of dollars upgrading the Eritrean port of Assab and its Airport to accommodate its fleet of Navy ships and fighter planes.
At the very same time, the UAE had a 30-year contract with Djibouti to operate its port and earned $1 Billion dollars a year from the Agame using its port services.
To put it simply, every year, the UAE received $1 Billion dollars from the Agame, and within seconds of receiving the payment, it transferred $1 Billion dollars into Eritrea's bank account to pay for parking its fleet.
This means that, for so many years, Eritrea was making the agame pay her $1 Billion dollars a year indirectly without having them to set foot on its pristine coastline. IQ Matters.
The sad part was, the agame didn't even know this was happening.
In 2021, Eritrea asked the UAE to vacate the Assab Port for reasons that we will share with you when we feel its appropriate. But, for now, let's just say, we got our Assab port and its air port upgraded FOR FREE! Not to mention the Billions dollars we squeezed out of the agame every year without their knowledge.

Yes…people who visited Assab attest to the fact you stated. The largest run way in East Africa is…guess where? In Assab. Bigger than any country in the region (the second being the Massawa Airport). All we say is….Thank UAE although they didn’t do it help us and thought they would be in Assab for a very long time

until Shaebia gave them a short eviction notice. What people say the reason was, uncle Sam’s agents were seen frequently disguised as “UAE” agents and working a covert mission there. As we know Shaebia spies have good eyes and immediately made ended their mission. Eritrea rather lose a billion dollars yearly income than having its territorial integrity violated. This is what’s called A PRINCIPLE LEADERSHIP.
