Somalia vs Oromia war is eminent. There is already land disputes and the way Abiy Ahmed went to please UAE to use Berbera port and recognize Somaliland has consequences.

This "MOI", if subsequently implemented, will remain an illegal agreement that defies the rules and regulations of the hapless UN and the equally clueless AU.

Somalia is useless they can't defeat Al Shabab. Somali people are spineless Ogaden will not revolt against Ethiopia anymore. Isaac clan are hated by Somalis and now they made a deal with Ethiopia to ensure their own interests.

You're absolutely right.

One thing that I've noticed is that despite Eritreans not having had many opportunities, they're more intelligent than Ethiopians - and of course much than those with a fake PhD.

Interesting that this happens a day after the so called peace talks between Somalia and Somaliland was concluded with 8point

Next point the president of the break away republic of Somaliland flies to Addis ababa signs a deal with the galla leader a port lease in particular zeila the issa land , to be given to Ethiopia for a period of twenty years . As so I have heard

How ever this wil have some ramifications for somalia territorial integrity. The question is can somalia defend is land can it come to an agreement with somalia . Also what will this mean the relationship between Somalia and Ethiopia.

All in all it was a master stroke by president biihi on his part now he has leverage against those in somalia . It’s either u support us and the break away republic recognition or Ethiopia will. And This is all because we bled Ethiopia dry and Ethiopia doesn’t want to pay as any more the 2,5 billon dollar port fees. Not sure how the Djiboutian government will react to this development .

Time will tell indeed how this unfolds.

I am waiting for Somalia reacton tomorow there is a cabinet meeting scheduled to discuss this issue

But can they implement or will they concede other sources are saying the president of Somalia is in cahoots with the president of somaliland on this issue not sure what he would gain.

The questions is Ethiopia has the tendencies to claim thing that isn’t theirs who will tell Ethiopia to leave when the lease term is finished . Will they comply or not this is my concern since the 20km sea shore given to Ethiopia allegedly is part of the heart land of the issa Somali clan who lives in western part of Somaliland which is zeila an historic town indeed

Its still legally not binding how ever if the local government approves this who can stop them , I don’t think Ethiopia gives a rat a zzz about the United Nations. They held badme for twenty years or so even though sovereign Eritrean lands. What I am more afraid of is not the the local government of somaliland approving this I think hassan sheikh Mahamoud has allowed this and signed it on behalf of Somaliland or is going to sign it on behalf of Somaliland in order to get shares of Ethiopia airlines which makes billions yearly known hassan loves money , I think he is behind this . This won’t hold in a legal court because somaliland isn’t a recognised government but if the damage is already done what can be done

Don't be jealous, tigrayan sister miss rock, the Eritreans that you hate and love at the same time, will let your beloved tigray import food aid and energy biscuits through massawa and assab. While Oromos import and export through SL's ports. Oromos and somalis fight and also marry each other, and have mixed with each other a lot in the border areas and even inland; we'll be okay despite your evil and envious wishes for us.

For 33 years Somalia refused to grant us recognition or at least allow us to operate like Taiwan . Instead they sponsored rebels in Our eastern province , they blocked multiple investments we could get from our international partners. We found oil in our land , but can't start to drill. each time we try , Somalia send letters to the oil companies we deal with .

We wouldn't mind not getting recognition if Somalia atleast allow us to grow economically. They put too much unnecessary pressure on us hoping that when we become weaker we will surrender to them. What kind of policy is that.

No more. We better allow Ethiopia to compete with other emerging powers. And we have nothing to loose even if we join their federation. All we are interested is to improve the living standard of our peaple.

Zack,

You're right, it's quite interesting that HSM held talks with the rats from Somaliland and that the latter flew to Addis the following day to sign such an MoU.

However, this won't materialise, as it's not the first time that the rats from Somaliland are signing agreements with foreign entities. As I mentioned it earlier, they did sign it with powerful countries, leave alone, this poverty ridden Ethiopia that reminds people across the world of famine.

I don’t think Ethiopia gives a rat a zzz about the United Nations.
You're confusing Ethiopia with the US, I guess.

If Ethiopia, which is fed by the UN agencies and related bodies, doesn't give a shi.t about the UN, then, I wonder who else would do so.

The world is not all about the UN, there's international law, conventions, treaties, common laws, etc., that have been out there prior to the conception of the UN.

Moreover, Somaliland is not a bit.ch that anyone with a few bucks can fu.ck. She belongs to someone.

I do agree how ever the problem in here is dear lad
Is that Ethiopia today is seen by the so called international community as the leader of the Horn of Africa . This seems to be the bigger issue

The second point as I agree as it won’t hold or it isn’t legally binding I don’t see how Somalia or the United Nations can stop it if the so called leaders of hargeisa allow them to have a sea out let there. What is that they possibly can do sue Ethiopia they might just sue them and Somalia will win the case and Ethiopia will refuse to Honer the verdict as it did with badme eritrea border conflict with Ethiopia in which the verdict was in favour of Eritrea but Ethiopia of the late meles refused to honer the verdict. This sort of similar scenario might play out in northern part of Somalia but Time will tell indeed.

See my point and argument. We should be very careful what the next step is and will be Ethiopia is not a powerful country it’s just that we do not have cohesion and our leaders are bad .

This hassan Guy might put up a sharada tomorow and say that he is against it but behind close doors he suspporting the secessionist regime in Hargeisa I will not doubt that at all indeed

Funny, is there still a country called Somalia? Somalia will never recover and reconstitute as it was.
