Thank you for your explanation and time. I just thought that contrary to some Somalis who have difficulties in pronouncing the letter "p", you Ethiopians didn't have any problem in pronouncing the letter "p", as there's "P" in Amharic.

Somalian or is it agamian, I don’t freaking understand why the Somalis….actually all the Muslim countries can’t pronounce the letter ‘P’.
We the Eritreans and Ethiopians certainly can pronounce it even though there is no word in Tigrigna or Amharic which has a letter ‘P’ in both languages. All the words which have ‘P’ in them are foreign words, like Police, Lampadina, Petros, Papas, Papagallo, etc. Even the ‘P’ in the word EthioPia is foreign. In Amharic the ‘P’ in Ethiopia has not the same pronunciation as the ‘P’ in English. It is different sound which the foreigners can’t pronounce.
Like wise, the Ethiopians also copied the list of their alphabets from Eritrean Tigrigna even though there are like 5 or 6 alphabets they can’t pronounce or use them in their language, which is an indication Geez came first then Eritrean tigrigna then Amharic.
Logic is that one doesn’t event what one can not use or pronounce as in this case.
I mean the fact that we the Eritreans use all of them in our conversations but the Ethiopians can’t and don’t. So it is mind boggling to hear them say that Amharic came before Tigrigna is stupid. If those 5 or 6 alphabets were not in their list of Alphabets, one would say that may be the Eritreans added those after Amharic. But while they can’t use them, they still have them in their lists of Alphabets which are copied from tigrigna.
Any way, yes there are no words in the local languages of Eritrea or Ethiopia which have the letter ‘P’ and again, I don’t get it why the Muslim people can’t pronounce it either.

Tigrinya is as as much a language of Ethiopians as it is for Eritrea s. To say that Ethiopians can’t pronounce letters and Eritreans can is just mind bogling since Ethiopia tigrayans can pronounce. It

You can't understand that some Somalis and, as you've put it, "all the Muslim countries can’t pronounce the letter ‘P’, but you can understand that foreigners can't pronounce the letter "P" in Amharic! Weey Guud, as Tarik would say.


No one has said that all Somalis and/or people from all the Muslim countries can’t pronounce can't pronounce the letter "P".

What I've rather said it that Somalis who do not speak languages that have the letter "P" have usually difficulties in pronouncing it.



FYI, Hebrew speakers, who speak a Semitic language just like the Arabic, have a monumental difficulty in pronouncing the Arabic and Somali letter ح thus, you hear them pronouncing Hamas as Khamas.

I can go on and on providing you with a ton of examples of this genre.
