How to mismanage uncomplicated relationships

Post by justo » 14 Nov 2023, 13:48

If somebody saves your life yesterday, you should wait 7 x 70 years before offending that person.

If Eritrea, just few months after saving Ethiopia from utter demise, can not count on Ethiopian respect for its territorial integrity, then Eritrea has to look elsewhere for friends. What could have been a smooth relationship between two neighbours has been utterly mismanaged by the two leaders.

And as far as Eritrea is concerned, its relationship with its neighbours should not depend anymore on Isaias' whim ("ብጻይ መለስ" ዝበለኒ ... "ዶክቶር ኣቢ" ዝነገረኒ ... "my Amhara friends asked me why I put a fox on a lion's throne" ... will not cut it anymore). We need a council of ministers of bona fide Eritreans to discuss thoroughly alliances and relationships.

"ብጻይ" መለስ may at one time have been Isaias' friend, but at no time was "ብጻይ መለስ" Eritrea's ብጻይ. I cannot even imagine Sibhat Efrem or Wuchu saying "ብጻይ መለስ" or "my Amhara friends"

Ethiopia saved Eritrea from isolation and crippling sanctions. Kidney selling is reduced by half.

Brother Justo,

You know about accountability. Don’t you ? In Eritrea, it is unheard of. The consequences of not having it is what you see today. Isayas wants to be the big dog that puts the leash on the West. You could see that in Putin’s eyes, when he met him face to face on “We” conversation. This is not Abbiy’s plan. He is just being used. The Emirates work for the West’s interest. That guarantees their life style to be above everyone. Isayas is possessed with regional power. He always sees beyond little Eritrea. Eritrea is not big enough for him. His complicity in Ethiopian civil war did it. Unfortunately, the Eritrean youth will pay for it again.
