Abiy and Oromo Elite Should be very careful that the war does not turn into an Oromo-AmHara conflict.
Increasingly, the current Abiy war is turning into an ethnic war between the two biggest nations of Ethiopia. This should have been a concern of Abiy and Oromo intellectuals unless that was their intention in the first place. A war between the two will certainly disintegrate Ethiopia. What will their future be then. Oromos will be the greatest losers as they will be surrounded by enemies. If Abiy is feeling terrible about being land-locked now, I wonder what he will feel when he becomes the president of Oromia and locked from the sea forever, and unable even to use them.

Abiy like his Tegaru predecessors will make his hide out amongst Oromos. Some may opt to protect him but a good majority won't. but instigating Amhara vs Oromo is what he is doing currently. Fano is carefully watching this. Abiy could also be assassinated before Fano enters Oromia

Oromia would be fine. The Amara and Oromo may have conflicts in isolated cases and areas, but it's less likely to occur on a large scale. We're like an extended family that fights, but also marries each others women and assimilate into each other's culture in various places. Problems may occur if either side tries to dominate the other, which is why I advocate for a loosely confederated Ethiopian state, with a weakened central govt, and more power given to the federal states.
Although we never look for problems in general and are peace loving people generally speaking, we have the numbers, the resources, the bravery, etc, to defend ourselves against ANY one in the Horn of Africa. Our record speaks for itself. Even without weapons, we can make or break the country, and any opposition to ANY federal govt in ethiopia that doesn't have Oromo support, is bound to suffer and more likely than not, fail.
We can also easily reach agreements with the somalis to the east, whose ports we've used before, and whose ports are much closer, on the basis of mutually beneficial trade. Do not distort things simply because you are furious at Abiy and Opdo whose existence is based on tplf and shabia wanting a subservient puppet in Oromia during the last days of Mengistu. Oromos will be fine, not so sure or concerned about Opdo. Genuine Oromo nationalists were seen as obstacles to whatever goals the tplf and their godfather, Shabia, had, which is why opdo, abiys party, was made. Never forget that. Because history won't.
We have no desire to use Eritrean ports, we have no claim to them, in fact, Eritrea and Eritreans are seen as distant neighbors that we rarely if ever even think about. If we do, it isn't negative or due to "territory disputes."
If any such disputes exist, it'd be between your tigrayan neighbors who claim the Kebessa of Eritrea are denying their kin of Tigray, the sons of Alula and Yohannes who believe the Eritrean ports are theirs, hence the "Abay Tigray" and "Agazi" state rhetoric.

Yes, the Oromos will be fine; they have always been fine. There will be no domination by Amharas or Oromos, and every Ethiopian, regardless of their nationality, will be able to enjoy living in peace anywhere in Ethiopia. However, the ideology of Mogassist will take a dive into the abyss the day Addis Ababa falls into the hands of Ethiopianists. You can take that to the bank.Sadacha Macca wrote: ↑13 Nov 2023, 21:40Oromia would be fine.
