✳️ GREAT NEWS! ✳️ Massawa and Assab Ports Are Becoming Global Logistics Hubs ⚱️⚱️⚱️ ☑️

Post by Fiyameta » 16 Oct 2023, 20:55

The Eritrean vision is not to make the Massawa and Assab ports mere transit corridors for the neighbors (although that can be an added bonus), but it is to build world-class infrastructure on its strategically located ports which will turn them into global logistics hubs for international trade. We set our priorities straight. A deepening China-Eritrea partnership is already turning this vision into reality, with China financing major infrastructure projects in Eritrea -- including major port upgrades, a 500 Km highway between the Massawa and Assab ports, etc.

For example, Singapore is the second-largest logistics hub in the world with an estimated annual revenue of $70 Billion dollars. The Port of Shanghai in China is the world's largest. 8)

As businesses become more complex and companies continue to expand globally, the logistics sector is constantly developing new solutions to meet the demands of these growing businesses. One such solution is the Port logistics hub. A logistics center is an area dedicated to all activities related to the transport and sorting, coordination and distribution of goods for national and international transit.

Location is the main feature of a logistics hub.

A hub usually brings together several different international companies that perform tasks related to the flow of goods, all of which mutually benefit from being in the same place. Logistics hubs have a large number of operators, workers, services, goods and data flowing in and out every day. They are also centres for manufacturing, assembling, labeling, organizing, coordinating, sorting, distributing and transporting goods for national and international transit. They often contain offices, storage facilities, warehouses, distribution centers, trucking and shipping services. Some even offer customs clearance points, dangerous goods zones and transport service parks.

Raw material and unfinished goods are stored, processed, finalized and managed in the logistics hub, closer to final consumers. The Hub also provides a clearing house for data, facilitating digital processing and quality management systems to track and trace shipments.

Hubs look like huge warehouses, but in reality, a logistics center is a whole city of warehouses, where companies can perform all the operations necessary to process their cargo. They are popular all over the world, as they offer companies the possibility of carrying out a range of logistics operations in one place.

The infrastructure of logistics hubs depends on the needs of the companies that use them, and location is an important characteristic.

The fact that all these services are available from a single source has several advantages:

  • The strategic location of logistics hubs allows them to connect with different freight types.
Costs are reduced because sharing facilities between businesses saves energy.
Logistics hubs can invest in the latest logistics technology, facilitating operations.
Different hub providers can collaborate with each other, which means they can offer value-added services since they can share assets.

Singapore has an extensive network of Free Trade Agreements with more than 30 trading partners to enhance its access to major markets. This encourages companies across the logistics chain to operate from Singapore, as they know they can count on frequent and reliable connections to reach global markets quickly.

Abiys speech is kinda blessing in disguise that Eritreans will start thinking pass poor Ethiopia. Eritrean elites work to save Ethiopia and keep it united is a mistake… let Ethiopians fight it out or destroy it if they want too.
Eritrea saved Abiy regime from tplf and pay back he wants to break it into pieces 🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️ultimate betrayal, once he betrayed the brave fanos who saved him from tplf, I knew he is being hired as telalaki of the evil ferenjis….

I’m just mad 😡

We see Abiy as an imprudent person, while we see the Ethiopian people as good neighbors. It gives us great pleasure in knowing that the actions we took against the TPLF terrorist group in defense of our nation had a direct effect in averting Ethiopia's disintegration. We Eritreans don't feel betrayed by Abiy at all, because he doesn't owe us anything. If anything, Abiy has betrayed the Ethiopian people who counted on him to lead them to green pastures, but instead chose to keep Ethiopian ethnic groups in perpetual conflict. That's what the war profiteers in the IMF and World Bank want him to do. They will give him more loans to buy weapons that will kill his own people.

Had it not for the ሓሳድ Weyane instigated and implemented by the US, arm-twisting the UN Security Council's unjust and illegal sanctions, that has been the plan all along. We definitely have lost some time, but we are back on track and, as Fiyameta said, we are marching forward and doing it now regardless of what the evil people dream about how to hurt Eritrea.

Dear F
With all due respect, it’s a mistake to think of unity for an entity or neighbor that is destined or dreaming to wreck your house now or in future generations. If Yugoslavia was still intact the Serbs would have been still a threat to the former Yugoslavia republics but no more… Mr H2O has been clear in his message that he’s weak now,but his children will be strong and destroy your children’s houses.

I understand though the saying of digebir nediue aynegir

Our ability to look beyond individual actors in Ethiopia and see a nation of people who share the same human values and aspirations, that we all want peaceful coexistence, mutual respect and cooperation, is what leads Eritreans to stand in solidarity with the Ethiopian people in their hour of need. That's what sets Eritreans apart from the agame who waged war on Ethiopia to turn the country into Yugoslavia. We Eritreans would like to see a strong, united and truly independent Ethiopia that shares responsibility for peace and stability with its neighboring nations.

When Eritrean ports become global logistics hubs it will improve Ethiopia's access to world markets and enhance our participation in the global trading system. I look forward to it.

Fiyameta aka Amharaphobic Sun

Imprudent = not showing care for the consequences of an action; rash.

so you a eritrean are allowed to support and not support PMAA any time you want but me as a Ethiopian cannot do the same!

ha!

now tell me what Eritrea can do with their ports? theirs little to no trade routes in Eritrea except Ethiopia(Humera) and Sudan(Kassala). Not allowing Global Powers (FRANCE, JAPAN, USA, SAUDI, UAE,CHINA,RUSSIA) to have bases in your country will make you unable to benefit from your geography

Trade is diverted to Port Sudan and Djbouti City and away from Assab and Massawa by your kind to ensure your sovereignty and blockading you from the rest of africa !

Around 95% of Singapore's electricity is produced using liquefied natural gas imported via pipelines from neighboring Malaysia and Indonesia. Natural gas accounts for about a quarter of global electricity generation. New research shows that Eritrea's Red Sea coast has MASSIVE oil and natural gas reserves which is largely untouched.

Our goal to turn our ports into multi billion dollar global trading hubs should not be interpreted as a denial of transit corridor to our neighbors. It's just that our massive port expansion and upgrade projects are done with our priorities in mind. Anything else is just peanuts. But the one thing we Eritreans dread the most -- it is the use of our ports by our neighbors to import food-aid, for it goes against our principle of Self Reliance.
