If I were Abiy, I would use Mike Hammer's visit to get out of Amhara Region's Quagmire

Post by temari » 31 Aug 2023, 06:15

I would tell to PP that the US is threatening with sanction unless the conflict is resolved peacefully, and I would use this opportunity to get out of a quagmire that Abiy will never win. This is maybe his last opportunity to get out of the Amhara region's quagmire with some face-saving. The next opportunity would most likely come with even more humiliation, or may will never come.

The only thing ENDF is successful so far in Amhara region is massacring civilians and destroying and looting properties while paying a heavy price militarily. When it comes to reducing the capability of Fano, it has failed miserably. In fact, it has helped Fano to acquire more weapons and get more fighters. This is a lost cause and the sooner ENDF gets out the better for all.

Okay, Amara simply will ask, Humera, Welqayt, raya is Amara and that is the end of it. What do you think Abiy will answer? He already promised TPLF they will get Welaqayt Humera. I don't think there is any use for any negotiations. Amara said enough is enough.

sarcasm,

I guess you are one of those true believers who was lead to green pastures by Abiy who still refuses to see the Cliff, and still hopes the "good " sheepherd somehow going to change course and steer the county from disaster. This view is dangerous because it trifles the danger at hand, and disarm those who need to make last ditch effort to protect themselves from the mayhem that is Abiy's making.

Poor akaleguzi

You are trying to rescue your beloved OLF, but even if he goes with your suggestion, he will not recover from it. Fano will have its own demands that abiy will have to comply with, abiy cant deliver agames Welkiet and Raya meaning agames will try to sabotage him. Fano will have the economy of Amara, abiy loses control of Amara and Somali alone is a dead government. It will eventually mean the west and his followers will kill him themselves.

So he will never do that you are suggesting him to do. It is a slower death for him. He would rather fight it our and see where his luck can take him. And I am sure his ፔንጤ ጠንቋይ bit'tch is telling him to never stop the fight

Hi DTT,

Both parties setup an independent body called 'Eritrea-Ethiopia Claims Commission'. Both parties submitted their claims to the body and after a lengthy deliberation, the body reached a decision which both parties accepted and settled their accounts. The total monetary compensation awarded to Eritrea in respect of its own
claims was US$161,455,000 The total monetary compensation awarded to Ethiopia in respect of its claims was US$174,036,520. That means, Eritrea paid US$12,581,520, the balance of the excess compensation awarded to Ethiopia to settle the account permanently.

sarcasm,

There is a saying which goes like:

"success has many fathers, failure is an orphan", no one is ready yet for an introspection and that could be also the reason why such a blame game is still going around.

While I wholeheartedly agree that brute force can never solve thr questions of the masses, I like testing how elaborate a persons thoughts on a particular topic are. It really helps put things into perspective.
What are .. or what would be the conditions for these negotiations? What are the demands of fano or APF?
If it includes PM Abiy resigning, who would take his place, or his parties place, both at the federal and state level?
