The US-based Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) released this documentary which included footage that was recorded by a former prisoner in Abi Abeito, one of Afwerki's cruel and torturous gulags, offering an insight into the horrific conditions. The film shows cells that are so overcrowded that prisoners lie one on top of each other, unable to stretch out!
