'Divide and rule' - Part 1

Post by Somaliman » 07 Aug 2023, 09:19

Although all dictators possess absolute power, they're not all the same. Neither are their oppressive and survival tools the same. Nevertheless, 'Divide and rule' is one of the oldest, most widely used, and most effective of their repressive strategies to cling on to power as long as possible. It involves forging, maintaining, and enforcing divisions, distrust, and enmity among ethnic, religious, regional, and socio-political groups.

Africa is not short of examples of dictators who have acquired and/or secured and retained power through these divisive stratagems, and Afwerki, known worldwide as "the merciless butcher to his own people" is no exception.

We'll discuss how Afwerki, who instead of rallying public support, employs coercion, imprisonment, torture, intimidation, and killing to secure obedience, has made use of 'Divide and rule' strategies.

For instance, to hinder and hamper the emergence of an organized opposition against his oppressive regime, Afwerki has set the three highly populated highland regions (Hamasien, Seraye, Akeleguzay), which are predominantly Christian and of Tigrigna ethnicity, against one another by instilling mistrust among them. This evil tactic has served him to obstruct the realisation of any organised opposition for these three regions to fight their common enemy.

About 23 years old but I am not saying president Ismail. Is a democratically elected leader . It was a sham elections but I still support him I don’t mind he is my president and my family and kin. How ever he didn’t turn Djibouti into a totalitarian state where one man decides everthing we stilll have parliament elected mayors . A prime minister We have to a certain extend some different news out let’s not just state media and some kind of check and balance which is good for a nation

Little baboon,

FYI, in Djibouti,

There are no secret prison facilities and camps, where people are detained indefinitely without charges and incommunicado.
There is independent media of all sorts of outlets
There are no Djiboutians fleeing the country, neither is Djibouti known as the fastest emptying country in the world
There's no a single journalist in prison
There are only two Djiboutians who have been granted asylum as Djiboutian, and one of the two goes back to Dbibouti as a presidential candidate
There's no censorship
Djibouti is not known as "the prison state", neither is its president called a butcher
There are no political prisoners or detainees
Guelleh does not use divide and rule strategy
Djiboutian Embassies do not serve Djiboutians abroad in accordance with their level of support for Guelleh
There are no Guelleh's spies among the Djiboutian population
Djiboutians discuss politics freely without fear of being arrested and sent to detention centres and prison facilities
Unlike in Eritrea, there are no 360 prison facilities

I can go on and on until your little chicken-brain gets dizzy!

I could give you a long list of what Eritrea went through by foreign entities and as a consequence of that might've led to some of what you listed (though all of it grossly exaggerated & copied from your Wey-ane & their white masters' playbook) while Djibouti was for decades well ensconced & in peace under the feet of France, but it would be too much for a bloody-tampon.

The Eritrean people have successfully fought off a huge neighbour aided by both superpowers in different times, so getting rid of PIA would be like swatting a fly.

You can go & hang yourselves or blow your empty beggar skulls to smithereens all you want, but the Eritrean people LOVE their president!!!

The truth is, singling PIA out in isolation from his people is where the divide & rule attempt is happening.

All you know is blaming others, such as Obama!

If you get raped by a dog on the street, are you also going to blame Obama!

By the way, why are you talking about Guelleh and Djibouti to Zack, have you not lately been parroting that Zack is a Tigrayan!

You little baboon,

Not only are you talking out of your ar.se, but also, you're talking through your ar.se!

Which is worse, being an ugume or their toilet-paper?

You're 1 of the 2.

I called your boyfriend an ugume, cos he unexpectedly responded to something written in the ge'ez alphabet.

Explain that, sewer rat!

You little baboon,

FYI, Zack is both Djiboutian and Ethiopian, and of course, is also from Somalia, even if he has never set foot in Somalia.

If I speak Chinese, am I Chinese? For instance, I speak Spanish among other languages, am I a Spaniard or a Latino?

Obviously, education is nothing for you!

No, on sister's date, as the bit.ch who put you on earth is too old for me. I think she should have swallowed the sperms that your retard father cummed in her pu.ssy, in this way she would have avoided putting one more retard on earth.

What a load of nonsense so because I reacted to something which was written in Tigrinya ama tigrayan it’s true I understand a little Tigrinya but nothing out of the ordinary I am better in Amharic though the Tigrinya I know is just a few words and I just happens to react to whatever was written I had no clue what was said initially . Even if I was fluent in Tigrinya which I am not but if I was it still wouldn’t make me an Eritrean or tigrayan

Djibouti is my birth country. Somalia is also my country since my people are from there I can obtain a Somali citizen just going to any imigirstion officie in Somalia
I am not willingly an Ethiopian but because of geography

You won't need to have clan affiliations in Somalia to be a citizen of Somalia. Neither would you need to go to a Somali immigration office for this.

Any Somali, no matter where they were born or which country they have been part of, is automatically a citizen of Somalia. This is how it was stipulated in the Somali Constitution of 1960, and I believe the current one is also stating it as such. All you would need is your birth certificate (and now there's ID). In case you were born outside of Somalia, they'll test your Somaliness, and for sure no non-Somali can fake this.

During Siad Barre era, Djiboutians didn't require to have a visa to enter Somalia, and that was when all countries in the world required people entering their country to possess a visa no matter where they were coming from. I mean, those days, there wasn't a single country on earth where people could enter without a visa.

Yes it’s true according to the Somali constitution one just has to belong to the Somali ethnic group it doesn’t matter what country where one is born he will get automaticallly the Somali citizenship as it should be my father who was born in diredawe had the Somali passport before the Djiboutian one he even briefly lived in Mogadishu and in borama during the 1960 before Djibouti even was a thing. Those where the good old days
