Even Though I'm Disappointed, I'm Not Giving Up On Africa!!!
In regards to post independence Africa it is my conviction that it had missed the boat in the 1960’s. The main culprits were men of its own product. Majority of its leaders were those who were radicalized during the independence movement. They chose to turn to East for guidance and they became radical leftists. Socialism became their battle cry and that did Africa in. The East did not present a vast market for African products except its natural resources and in stead Africa turned itself into a bazaar for Soviet, Chinese and even for North Korean MiGs, AK-47s and T-model tanks. In most cases its leaders shunned the West completely. That was the gravest mistake those leaders made. They were competing among themselves to show who had the best brand of socialism. Who will forget about Ujamaa? But what were their contemporaries in Asia like South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia doing? Don’t try to tell me they were preferred. Many young men and women from those countries were given the chance to study in Western countries on scholarships. So were many from various African countries. So what did most those students brought back to Africa? It was not how to make gadgets but some of the most leftist radical philosophy around. Most of the most committed commies were the ones who went to school here in the West and their host countries had nothing to do with it. They brought copies of the devil’s scripture, Das Kapital in stead of technical manuals on how to make gadgets. In the mean time that Asian student who just returned from USA after finishing his/her education was busy tinkering how to make portable kitchen appliances and toys. US manufacturing companies like Admiral took notice of that and came to say hello to Taiwan. Then came Admiral Overseas Corporation in the late 1960’s churning color televisions destined for USA. It is now a wholly Taiwanese owned AOC International. Since I started working for manufacturing companies I had watched those Asian countries transform themselves from cities of brothels into factories humming 24-7. They made a habit of investing heavily in research and developments(R&D’s) instead of procuring military hardware. South Korean companies started making small gas powered motors for our portable construction and plumbing items. Now they are major manufacturers of automobiles. When is the last time you did not see a Kia or Hyundai cruising by? Samsung, LG, hello!!! How about iPhone, iPad, iPod? Any African factory product? All I see is a repacked and rebranded espresso at Starbucks and coffee and tea section at our grocery stores. Africa, on its own accord, has missed the boat in the 1960’s and 70’s. It’s intellectuals were busy showing off their communistic prowess and chicken scratching some notes on imperialism in stead of writing technical manuals in how to make industrial gadgets. The gullible youth was flooded with communist literature that opened the door for endless ethnic and religious bloody conflicts. Those commies and their protégés are now some of the most barbaric bigots. It is ironic to see these bigots are using gadgets made by those Asian countries in planning their demonic schemes. But I am not still giving up on Africa.

mediocre, opportunist and deputy over the continuation of the colonial legacy. They stole and sold food aid to import AK47 to kill their own starved people. The conflict we see now in Ethiopia is the conflict between the old generation "often called aka the 1960s" and the new generation with exposure to technological revolution and cosmopolitan view. Optimism is the way to go.

Yes, I agree with you that the young generation should cleanse itself from twisted ideology of the 1960's and 70's commies. That is why I am calling on our well read countrymen to come up with a plan that will discredit that demonic ideology of Marxism/Leninism/Maoism and therefore cleanse the thought process that is deeply entrenched in that country. If you look at all these armed groups they were all founded by commies of the 1960's and 70's. When creating a 'Dictatorship of the Proletariat' didn't materialize they then jumped on the 'national question' band wagon and started pitching one harmonious neighbor on another in their dream of yanking a territory as their personal fiefdom/republic. It was in Tigray and Oromia region and now Amhara region is coming to the fold. Allah gifted discipline is thrown out the door. Compare those demonstrators in Hong Kong to those in our country. Those in Hong Kong do not touch stores, factories and public buildings. But in our case it has been nothing loot'em, torch'em and burn'em because they are owned by Amharas, Tigres or Oromos. That country has monsters among it current generation even though they are in their minority. The majority of them are good mannered and well bred. Lets hope and pray that that country will find its mojo very soon before it goes belly up.Abere wrote: ↑18 Jul 2023, 16:58Abere wrote: ↑18 Jul 2023, 16:51Africa will be better off with the new generation. Lets keep our conversation civil cuz the young generation may be watching us. I'm also responding to you believing that you are the product of that gem of the colored called Ethiopia which produced us all.

The ruffian in Moscow is now scared stiff to leave town even for the most important meeting scheduled in South Africa. The meeting is where the group he helped found, BRICS, and its leaders were to meet. Since the Wagner Group mutiny, this child murderer does not trust even his sister, brother, uncles or parents if they are still around and in good terms with him. He must be scared of his own shadow now. Why not? His drones, missiles and bombers have murdered toddlers and the helpless elderly at will just to 'punish' a small democratic neighbor for no reason.

Ittu,
My prayer is, the bad smoke happening in Europe-Russia skies never spill over to the virgin sky of Africa, especially Ethiopia. Bad thing is contagious, most of us saw the Canada wildfire smoke crossed over to us, kept some inside their home. There is an Amharic saying, a restless finger touches… [ bad odor].

I am not a politician by training but a retired engineer who spent his adult life navigating the factory and corporate jungle of America. I started turning my attention to the affairs of that gem of the colored at the time close to my retirement. Even though my priorities were my family and profession I was still keeping in touch with my countrymen/women of various ethnic backgrounds here and Europe. I decided to share my opinions with my dear countrymen/women on various websites for more than a decade now. I want to lay all out there for everyone to read it. Like our glorious countrymen/women I am fiercely independent in my convictions in that I don't belong to any groupings. I jot down what I feel is good for those glorious people hoping that I will garner some agreement with my readers. If they like it, that is doubly satisfying for me and if they don't like it that is also their Allah bestowed inalienable rights, no offense at all. But I wish they keep their utterances civil. In one way I am not surprised by their faux militancy behavior. That is the residual planted and left behind by the destructive and insolent behavior of those commies of the 1960’s and 70’s. The working relationship protocol was/is either you are a friend or an enemy. If your opinion was/is not to their taste/preference you are an enemy and a friend of a regime/group they were/are on war footing with. But at the sunset part of my blessed life on this good earth I will keep expressing my honest and independent opinion until my fingers and thought process betray me. Regardless, I am deeply indebted by the good folks, very dear editors of this esteemed website for letting my comments ride on their platform for years now. I hope and pray that they will be around for many years to come. Insha'Allah!!!

Steps like this rehab program of former rebels (reported to be more than 375,000) being planned on national and regional basis is one of the ways to woo away the gullible youth that was lied to by bigots to roam aimlessly in the wilderness. This could be a big blow to these smart aleck goons there and those here among us who have been fanning the flames of war from their comfy homes. With average age of that country hovering around 20 yrs old there always be a fodder for rabble rousers of all sorts and hateful individuals and groups. The commies in the 1960's and 70's used the easily agitated emotion of the youth to push their satanic verses and in the process over 2 million of them were lost if you include those who were forced to abandon and flee their beloved country. Let me sorted it all out for you and explain why I have had beef with those who deafened those like me with cacophony of 'liberation' this and 'liberation' that. They tell me the resources of the region I am from have never been allowed to benefit people like me and they are here to put a stop to that. When they tell me that I am like 'Who does this idiot think I am? Does he think I'm that stupid? I may look stupid to his numb brain but I am not dumb'. What he really means is once he and his entourage carve away a region with the blood of the gullible youth and call it a 'liberated' republic, all the natural resources of the 'liberated' republic will belong to him and his inner circle cabals. Then if you complain about it you wouldn't know what has just hit you. Poof, you're gone. Don't start with me about these connivers. Please don't!!! Nuff said for now.

Just look at what that thug in Moscow has been doing lately. He has been burning the bread of poor countries by torching grain silos of Ukraine. He has closed the shipping routes in the Black Sea so not a single gram of wheat will get out. This demon is acting so erratically that it is worrisome. The war he told others and his citizens would end in a matter of one month has been dragging on for more than 17 months now. It is estimated that close to 40,000 Russians have lost their lives in a senseless war this mugger started. He is not threatening Poland. This ruffian is losing his mind and I am really worried about him. Hitler was said to have ordered the torching down of Berlin when he finally realized that the war he started was lost to him and the Allied forces were there at his doorstep. Luckily he did not weapons considered to be of mass destruction. He did not think twice to take his own life after he ordered to wiping out of every German in that city. But this goon is sitting on a pile of nuclear arsenal and am afraid there is no another Brezhnev close by the snip the command chain from him. It will be up to the level head Russian people to show his right place to this mad man.
