The thing is we Amhara did not like the semetic language entirely so we kept our local dialect and and our smooth accent mixed it with Geez. We did like many Geez words like Hiwet, Birhan, Serawit, Gezat, Fikr, Desta, Hazen, Haqi, Beyt etc Pure Amharic words are Lij, Joro, Wuha, Wisha, Ameseginalew, Konjo, Ehet, Wendem, Ayat, Akest etc

Horus,
Thank you.

The invasion and forceful conversion of non-Arabic countries such Sudan, Egypt etc. helped the expansion of Arabic language, usually at the expense of the demise of other Semitic languages. The origin of Arabic language itself is believed to be Africa, interestingly. Now, the #1 Semitic language in terms of speaker is Arabic followed by Amharic.
Just a question, does anybody know any other twin languages in the world, as most similar as Amharic and Tigrigna?
