Abere Horus, Selam,
I never understood hate can intoxicate someone like it did to the three of you. What is next? This words do not belong to Oromo, hence Oromo does not belong here. If you want to own everything in your head, you are welcome. I am pretty sure none of you are proficient in afaan Oromo and Oromo culture. But you are expressing yourself as if you are expert in afaan Oromo and Oromo culture. Now afaan Oromo has grown immensely in the last thirty years, you have to be part of it by claiming this or that is not Oromo word. How low can you people sink? The history you mentioned here are all fairy tales from your debteras.
Not long ago you were preaching for the extermination of Tigray people. You lost that option due to the peace deal. Now it is the tern of Oromo and you vomit your hate venom towards them. Rest assured Oromo are beyond your reach. Pretending to know and knowing are to different things.

Banebris2013,

What is ኤሪቻ? Can you briefly explain it. Do followers have a place of worship? Probably they gather every week or month or a year.

Who are these people demolishing mosques and churches, which by the way is an act of terrorism. The government that habitually arrests journalists and intellectuals is tolerant of this act of terrorism. Or it is the government that has been doing it for political purposes. Who is behind it.

Please don’t make it an issue of Oromos and none oromos. The title of the thread was about the origin of ኤሪቻ and what it is. The individuals you mentioned above gave a brief lesson about ኤሪቻ.
Now, it is your turn. Bring it up.

To think and act globally, there has to be there has to be a conducive environment that cultivate an such attitude, norm and value. In a country where citizens even can enter into their own city of Addis Ababa, ethnicity is the only factor that gives or denies the right to live, a leader is all about his tribe and his tribes existence is at the expense or extinctions of others talking globalism is faking citizens to go more into the mouth of the shark Orommuma. With regard to ኢሬቻ , the discussion is about its origin and how it evolved and changed overtime. Scholars revealed, it has an Amharic origin. There is nothing wrong with that. If there are other pieces of study let them come out to light to challenge this study.

There are cultures in Ethiopia besides Ireecha in south too, those who drink blood, etc, The massai drink blood too. However is this a belief system or survival mechanism drinking blood?

Why was Ireecha NOT emphasised before, why today? Is there similarity with West Illuminati, is that why? In order to hide this Ireecha belief, the Oromo elites rejected it to and converted to Protestant Western belief that is also controlled by illuminati.

The British have this secret belief system of Druid and Wicca, whitchcraft that is now part of Illuminati and yet they blame the jews of child sacrifice when they are part of it too. Check out Alister Crowley, Albert Pike all do witchcraft and illuminati that allowed today the rise of evil.

Get out of your backyard talk and think about global issue and Ethiopia! Ye guaro ena ye zer were tilacha aytekemem
And you think that positive conditions needs to be cultivated and developed by others when in fact you and few of your lunatic buddies are the ones who preach hate and destroy everything positive and development. You need some kind of brain transplant before you demand from others any positive attitude because you can't get what you can't give.

As far as Oromos and the rest are concerned ignorance and hate from habitual haters unites us more and more. What you are calling a study is just bullsh!t garbage blabbering of absolute zero value cheap propaganda junk as you yourself knows it. All of these garbage vomiting, hate talks, hate chants, hate liturgies, hate preaching, etc. are due to the fact that Oromos did not go with your most favored pathological killing adventure of the Tigrians, instead Oromos and others choosing the peace and the reconciliation approach since the Prime Minister is the leader of all Ethiopians including the Tigrians whom you want to see dead and buried once and for all.

Concerning Erreecha or Irreessa celebration it is not a religion or religious celebration by any means. It is the celebration of the transitions of seasons when one season replaces the other season. Erreecha or Irreessa is about the celebration of the coming spring and passing of winter. Spring brings hope, light, sun, greenness, fertility, energy, farming, abundance, happiness, life etc. At its bottom it has NOTHING TO DO with politics or religion.

It is also similar in many countries across the world and across cultures and the Oromo culture is part and parcel of the world culture, past and present. It’s no wonder that cultures around the world prepare to celebrate the seasonal transition from the darkness of cold Winter into the brightness of days in the next season – Spring is arriving!

All around the world, different cultures express their gratitude and welcome Springtime with celebrations and rituals honoring a new beginning. The Spring Equinox is an annual astronomical event to witness the balance that comes with an equal day and night.

The Spring Equinox as it is called officially marks the end of Winter promising fresh beginnings filled with sun-kissed days, new growth, and a fruitful season. Celebrations are plentiful during this time, and the traditions are longstanding and ever lasting.

The word “Equinox” translates to “equal night” in Latin, referring to how the day and night are approximately 12 hours each during the Equinox. This is due to the Earth’s axis tilting zero degrees in relation to the Sun which happens twice a year, once in March and once in September.

India
In India, the Spring Equinox is celebrated during a festival called Holi. The festival celebrates various important Hindu legends signifying the triumph of Good over Evil, one of the most popular being the legend of Krishna and Rhada. The celebration as a whole lasts two days and brings a tremendous spirit of joy across the country. The festival starts with the lighting of massive bonfires the night before the Spring Equinox, which the public is encouraged to dance around.

Iran
In Iran, Persian culture, the Spring Equinox falls directly on the Persian New Year, called Norooz. It is a beloved, exciting time with celebrations and rituals centered around a fresh start, new beginnings with wishes for prosperity, and leaving behind remnants of the past winter like darkness.Once the day of Norooz finally arrives, a 13-day long celebration ensues including extensive visits and delicious dinners with family and friends. Children are given sweets and money, and presents are shared all around.

Everyone joins the fun as they jump over the fires, sing traditional songs, and exclaim the phrase: “Give me your beautiful red color and take back my sickly pallor!” The color red signifies health, beauty and joy while pale yellow signifies negativity, including sickness, pain and sorrow. Kids also roam the streets as they bang loudly on pots and pans, asking for sweets or money.

Japan’s Shunbun No Hi
In Japanese culture, the Spring Equinox is celebrated in a somewhat different way compared to other cultures. Although the Vernal Equinox is still celebrated as the coming of Spring, the people of Japan have a special belief around this time.

It is believed that during the equinox, when the day and night are equal lengths, the Buddha appears to help guide lost souls to the afterlife. To honor and aid in this process, Japanese families visit the graves of ancestors and loved ones.

Upon their visit to the grave sites, the families clean the tombstones, leave flowers, offer food, and pay respects. Popular food offerings include a special rice cake covered with bean powder, and saki, a common alcoholic drink in Japan.

Bulgaria
Colorful bracelets in Bulgaria
Bulgarians acknowledge springtime before it even arrives. On March 1st, they exchange “Martenitsi” (singular: Martenitsa), red-and-white twined bracelets and decorations. Bulgarians wear the bracelets or pin the decorations to their clothes in anticipation of the change of season. Whenever people see the first stork in the sky or blossom on a fruit tree—usually around the first day of spring—they take off the Martenitsi and tie them to the blooming branch. As flowers unfurl and springtime begins, you can see red-and-white strings tied up in gardens and parks all across Bulgaria.

Mexico
Ancient spring welcoming rituals in Mexico
Lots of people, all dressed alike, welcoming the season with their hands held high. Every year, tourists travel to the Teotihuacan Pyramid to do just that. Dressed all in white, they gather at the base, raise their arms to the sky, and welcome the sunshine and energy of springtime. Some even climb hundreds of steps to the top so that they can be a little closer to the sun. This ritual is mimicked across several ancient sites in Mexico, though the Teotihuacan Pyramid is the most accessible to visitors coming from nearby Mexico City.

USA

The White House Easter Egg Roll
Though Easter occurs after the first day of spring, it doesn’t quite feel like spring in D.C. until the annual White House Easter Egg Roll. This tradition dates back to 1878, according to the White House. That’s when a gaggle of brave schoolchildren walked right up to the White House lawn and asked to play egg-rolling games there in an honor for the spring. Fortunately for them, President Rutherford B. Hayes agreed. The egg-rolling competitions have since expanded into a full garden party, complete with cookie and egg decorating and strolling along the tulip-studded gardens. If you love White House trivia, you won’t want to miss these facts you never learned in history class about the President’s home.

Uzbekistan

Spring feasts in Uzbekistan
Uzbeks also celebrate Nowruz. To celebrate spring and new growth, they prepare sumalak, a wheat-bran pudding meant to reinvigorate people’s bodies after the chill and stagnation of winter. According to Atlas Obscura, the long cooking process brings people together to celebrate friendship and community. Wheat is placed into water, where it eventually sprouts. Then it can be crushed to make a paste, which is mixed and cooked with other ingredients for hours. The final product is served warm with tea, which is savored by families and friends as they celebrate the beginning of a new season.

China
Tomb Sweeping Day in China as spring welcoming ritual
The Qingming Festival, also known as Tomb Sweeping Day, is meant to mark the change of the seasons while honoring ancestors. It will be held on April 4th this year, a few weeks after the first official day of spring. During this festival, Chinese families clean and decorate their ancestors’ tombs. Some people burn incense or light firecrackers at the graves, as well. But this holiday isn’t all about death and solemnity. Families also light beautiful lanterns at night and fly kites to enjoy the sunshine and crisp spring weather.

This means that Oromos own world class traditions, cultures, meaningful celebrations and admirable rituals which they need to respect and practice so much, honor and develop at all times and places because rituals, celebrations, traditions etc, unites the Oromos as it does also for others and align them positively with the world we live in to operate and cooperate.
These are not somethings which Oromos need permission or acceptance of any sort from ignorant and desperate primitive haters.
