Rail ways are capital incentive investments and there should be enough freight and movement of people to make them feasible. Any investment in Eritrea with out liberalization of the Eritrean economy and empowering private businesses is not going to be feasible . Eritrea need to integrate it's economy with Sudan, Ethiopia and the Middle East , build resorts along the Red Sea and in it's Islands. It has to also build a world class airline similar to Ethiopian Airlines. The main focus of China could be exploiting mineral resources such as potash, gold and other metals and benefit from the strategic location of Eritrea. Only post Isaias Eritrea could liberalize it's economy and empower the private sector . As the saying goes , you cannot teach to an old dog( Isaias ) new tricks .
