Dialogue with Eritrean President Isaias: 'There is great potential for our cooperation'

On the evening of May 18, after a busy day's schedule, Eritrean President Isaias accepted an interview with reporters and talked about his thoughts and feelings during his trip to Sichuan.
Chuanguan News reporter: What is your impression of Sichuan, during this trip?
Isaias: The trip to Sichuan, was an exciting experience. I was deeply impressed by Sichuan's technological innovation and comfortable life.
It is worth mentioning that I thought that infrastructure construction, road transportation and other fields were Sichuan's advantageous industries. Through field visits, I found that Sichuan's research in biotechnology, agriculture, energy and other fields is also amazing.
In my opinion, Sichuan's progress reflects the progress of China in general today. It is the joint efforts of provinces like Sichuan, that have brought together today's powerful China.
Chuanguan News reporter: What areas are you mainly interested in during your visit to Sichuan, and what is your prospect for the next step of cooperation?
Isaias: In fact, before the visit, I sorted it out with the team and listed more than a dozen inspection lists; including new energy, agriculture and fishery, manufacturing, mining, education and health, cultural exchanges, etc. We look forward to cooperation, in all aspects. Cooperation can be improved to a higher level, and exchanges can be expanded to a wider field.
Agriculture is the main industry in Eritrea. This time around, I saw the innovative research of Sichuan enterprises in agricultural irrigation technology and fresh-keeping technology. It is expected that these advanced technologies will have the opportunity to be applied on a large scale in Eritrea after passing the test, so as to benefit our farmers.
Chuanguan News reporter: Sichuan, is a major province of clean energy. You have also visited many relevant sites, this time. What are your expectations for the cooperation between Eritrea and Sichuan, in the field of clean energy?
Isaias: Eritrea has abundant geothermal resources, and hopes to use geothermal power generation in the future. At the same time, in order to diversify energy sources, we are also actively conducting research on solar energy and wind energy. Sichuan has mature technology and rich experience in this regard, so there is great potential for cooperation between us. I believe that the benefits brought by the development of clean energy are not only immediate and economic, but also long-term and benefit people's lives.
In the process of communicating with representatives of Sichuan enterprises, I mentioned that I hope to meet with them next time in my office in Asmara to discuss more detailed plans. Our team, is willing to provide any assistance necessary to work together better.
