Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with visiting President Isaias Afwerki of the State of Eritrea in Beijing on Monday and this is what the Chinese President said according to reuters.

• A strong China-Eritrea relationship is not only in line with the common and long-term interests of both countries, but also for maintaining regional peace," Xi said.
  
  Chinese state media earlier in the day quote Xi as saying Beijing "is willing to work with Eritrea to promote mutually beneficial cooperation and development.

The President of Tanzania Samia Suluhu Hassan also made a state visit to Beijing from 2nd to 4th November 2022 and she returned home with 15 signed agreements to improve bilateral trade relations.

The two presidents Xi Jinping and Samia Suluhu Hassan witnessed the signing of 15 bilateral cooperation documents covering trade, investment, development cooperation, digital economy, green development, blue economy and the Zanzibar International Airport Terminal II project, worth around $56.72 million, Tanzania also received a grant of around $13.8 million from China as part of an Agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation, However, this is not the case for Eritrea, after all, who in their right mind would loan cash-strapped Eritrea money?
