On Saturday, local media reports reported the death of the Sudanese artist, Shaden Hussein, after a shell fell on her house in Omdurman.
Local sources said that Hussein's death came early on Saturday morning, following the ongoing battles between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces in the city of Omdurman.
Al-Sudani newspaper stated that the artist, known as Al-Hakama Shaden, was known for her serious and purposeful work, noting that she was calling for love and peace.
Sad comments poured into the account of the Sudanese artist, who was active on the “Facebook” social networking site, and is followed by more than 50,000 people.
Hussain's last Facebook post was just 16 hours ago, a few hours before her death. And it stated: “For every Sadwani who loves to write, we will write for the first time for future generations, a history that is not unknown and with all accuracy and credibility. You are an eyewitness to everything that happened in Sudan.”
The post received more than 3,000 comments, most of which asked to pray for mercy for the Sudanese artist.
And Sky News Arabia sources revealed that the city of Omdurman witnesses violent air and artillery bombardment from time to time.
The two sides exchange accusations over the shooting, as they hold each other responsible for targeting civilians.
