But, he was a heroic general who cared for the of well being of Eritreans from the distance. He worked with Eritrean governor Amanuel Andemichael to save the people of Asmara from the fury of Mengistu Haile Mariam I believe it was 1974. In the same year, he allowed for EPLF and ELF to work out their differences at Weki Zagir, Hammasien Eritrea. That infruriated Mengistu Haile Mariam whom Aman himself used to be his very own hero. BTW, it was Aman who allowed Mengistu to work as an errand, in his office during the Somali-Ethiopian war.
