German Chancellor Olaf Scholz due in Ethiopia for two days working visit







Addis Ababa, April 29, 2023 (FBC) – German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will pay a two-days working vist Ethiopia next week, Deputy Spokeswoman for the Federal Government of Germany, Christiane Hoffmann, confirmed.

Shared on twitter by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, the official statement from the Office of Press & Information Office of Germany indicates that Chancellor Olaf Scholz will visit Ethiopia from May 4 to 5, 2023.

During his stay in Addis Ababa, Chancellor Scholz is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, President Sahle-Work Zewde, and the head of the Interim Administration of Tigray region, Gatchew Reda, the statement further disclosed.

Addis Ababa, April 29, 2023 (FBC) – Deputy Director-General, Head of Africa Department at Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Irina S Nyoni, said that Ethiopia is a key strategic partner for the EU in the Horn of Africa and Red Sea and that the EU stands ready to support further progress on the path towards lasting peace.

PM Abiy Confers with Germany Chancellor Olaf Scholz






Addis Ababa May 4/2023(ENA):- Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has discussed with Germany Chancellor Olaf Scholz today. During the occasion, PM Abiy and Chancellor Olaf Scholz exchanged views on enhanced Ethio-German partnership in addition to regional and multilateral issues. “Pleased to receive Chancellor Olaf Scholz this evening where we discussed enhanced Ethio-German partnership in addition to regional and multilateral issues,” the premier twitted. It is to be recalled that Germany Chancellor Olaf Scholz has arrived in Addis Ababa today for a one day official visit to Ethiopia.
