The prime minister's remarks seem to be directed at the foreign powers that propped up the TPLF terror group to attack the Ethiopian Northern Command Force, and who are now trying to redeem their failures of overthrowing the government by propping up yet another Diaspora-based extremist group that the Ethiopian intelligence and security agency had accused of being behind recent assassinations of public figures in the Amhara region.

PM Abiy Ahmed warned Sudan's junta leader Abdel Fattah al-Burhan to stop meddling into Ethiopian affairs. During the war, General Burhan armed TPLF terrorists with Egyptian weapons which he dropped off at Mekelle's airport under the cover of darkness. One of his planes got shot down by the Ethiopian air force.
