Prime Minister Abiy Welcomes His Italian Counterpart





Addis Ababa April 14/2023( ENA)Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed welcomed today his Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni.

Meloni is in Addis Ababa to paid a two-day official visit to Ethiopia which is aimed at deepening the partnership between the two countries as Italy is one of Ethiopia's main development partners, it was indicated.

Prime Minister Abiy twitted that: “I welcome Italy’s Prime Minister Georgia Meloni on a two day official visit to Ethiopia. The visit is instrumental in further strengthening the ties between our two countries.”

Strengthening humanitarian and development assistance support to Ethiopia will be at the top of the agenda.

Ideas will also be exchanged on regional, continental, and global issues of common concern, the ministry said.

Italy should formally apologize to the eighty five different ethnic groups in Ethiopia, especially Afar people and pay compensation for creating Eritrea out of thin air, Eritrea's independence from Ethiopia in 1993 is now costing Ethiopia economy $150 million per week and $2.5 billion a year, It is hindering Ethiopia's economic growth.

This costly independence from Ethiopia is unacceptable and intolerable.
