But such scene can also be very frightening and disturbing for the Western donor nations that have been dumping their expired wheat in the country in exchange for coffee and other commodities for more than 70 years.

My question is again, what is this exhibition supposed to mean? Is this saying, 'let's farm together?', please buy wheat from us? I just wanted to grasp the significance of the act?

There are some individuals who believe that the peace deal reached between Eritrea and Ethiopia in July of 2018 is what's keeping Ethiopia intact, and they see the cordial relationship between the two countries as an impediment to their balkanization agenda they seek to achieve through ethnic territorial conflicts, the spread of fake news and disinformation.

When Ethiopia came under terror attack and was fighting a bloody war against a domestic mercenary force for its survival, such individuals were busy sowing the seed of doubt, deliberately complaining about very trivial matters to destruct people from seeing the truth, while attacking elected government officials that are sworn to defend and protect the nation. You became a de-facto US colony after WW2, so we Eritreans know that ultimately all of our ills emanate from the White House & not from Menelik Palace. Ethiopians never want to admit that fact though, eventhough just months ago the Yanks saved the terror junta leaders from sure death & twisted your arms to head to Pretoria.

Having said that and as is well known, the rivalry b/n the Amara & Tegaru (at least since Yohannes & Menelik's time) runs deep.

And the Weyane uprising actually started during the reign of H. Selassie & with the help of the British Air Force, he managed to quell it. It later flared-up again during Mengie's time & in fact, people like Meles started rebelling while attending AA University.

Eritrea actually preferred the EPRP over the TPLF, but unfortunately the TPLF came out on top. The relationship b/n the EPLF & TPLF was never a smooth sailing, either. The tplf had even severed its relations with the EPLF to later come back cap-in-hand, after Eritrea destroyed the Nadew Ez in Afabet & the outcome of the war became certain already by then.

The Olf, likewise, was aided by Eritrea to weaken the Weyane primarily- not to help them dismember Ethiopia like you want to imply.

If Eritrea really wanted the Balkanization of Ethiopia, it only needed to do 2 things.

1. Lend support to the Ethnic Federalism scheme.

2. Promise the Weyane access to the sea for their dream Republic & they wouldn't have needed to resort to any phony border war.

I think Horus deserves a credit for acknowledging that his modus oparandi for achieving relevance in modern times is by either occupying a sovereign nation at the behest of world powers, or by taking their orders to wage war of invasion against his immediate neighboring nations. The concept of peaceful coexistence is alien to him, and the absence of war frightens him because, without violence, he would be left with a void nothing could fill.

Meleket - the ethio-Eritrean border issue is one of the underlying problems I have talked about but why the drama? Are we in fear of another Ethio-Eritrean war? The threat to Eritrea comes from USA and TPLF. So, if the show is to send a message to America and TPLF, it makes sense but I doubt that Abiy is actually trying to win over USA and why would he annoy them by dancing with Eritrean generals
I tend to agree with TGAA. Abiy is scared of Amara-Eritrea alliance, Amara-Afar alliance. These Amara led alliances are not about some fancy mancy geopolitics. They go to the heart of Ethiopia's problem- a constitutional change; that is, the removal of the Oromo tribal order.
