How Ethiopia’s Abiy Ahmed Lost the World

Post by Tiago » 11 Mar 2023, 21:23

The article is from last year, however Abiy's adminstration is under greater scrutiny and will be under pressure to explain USA
why Ethiopia is heading to full blown ethnic war under his rule.USA secretary"s upcoming visit includes warnings to Abiy ahmed
and his ethnocentric politicians.
Abiy, shimelis abdisa and other OLF members are under the microscope while Amnesty International and others are pressuring the USA government to take the issues of war crimes and ethnic cleansing perpertrated by Abiy's OLF repressive regime.

Abiy may persevere as Robert Mugabe did, but Ethiopia will pay the price, just as Zimbabwe did. The simple reality is the United States, European Union, and many African countries no longer see Abiy as redeemable. For peace and prosperity in Ethiopia, the only course of action is Abiy’s exit. If, when, and how that happens will be a question for Ethiopians only.

There are no shortage of Nobel Peace Prize embarrassments but Ahmed is quickly positioning himself to be among the Norwegian Nobel Committee’s biggest regrets. In hindsight, what the Nobel Committee saw as a bold gamble for peace appears more a premeditated agreement to bury one hatchet to wield another.

He doesn't care about that, as long as they help install his group of anti Oromo extremists into power. He's hoping that, in exchange for overthrowing abiy, they'd be good puppets of the west like meles and co.

Rubbish, do you care about Ethiopians at all?

This is what is happening where I live not in US where you are hiding ,hypocrites .

This is not about USA being the judge but the influence of international bodies regarding Abiy’s ethnocentric government.
Remember Abiy has let down the No-More supporters by giving in to USA pressure and giving TPLF a new lease of life.
Now the USA administration is being persuaded by international organisation such as amnesty international to weigh in its decisions to assist Ethiopia in the light of the dangerous path of Abiy’s ethnic federalism.

Blinken is coming with a number of conditions hard to swallow and offers the galla Abiy finds hard to resist.
This time round it is about betraying his OLF thugs or being a wanted man by ICC.

Blinken has an agenda and he will dictate what Ethiopia should do for the sexually and politically compromised Abiye.

The first mission is Gerd and what is best for the interest of Egypt.
2nd is the status of Tigray & Western Tigray and rebuilding TPLF.
3rd is the minimizing the role of China.

The US already figured out the Abiye regime and considered it to be very weak and incompetent.

They will drop a lifeline cash just to boost the empty reserve currency but not by much. And throw around the ICC threat to spice it up.

If you're actually in Ethiopia, then why are you crying on a mostly diaspora forum? Go struggle and lead your nation, if indeed you are as passionate and dedicated to your "cause" as you claim to be. Federalism has nothing to do with it, because it's a form of governance that empowers non Amara to govern themselves within an united Ethiopia. You want it gone because it benefit's Amara's in your perspective, you don't care that Oromo, Somalis, sidama, etc, want this system and believe wholeheartedly in it. Yet you'll claim to love "Ethiopians," when in reality, you're just advocating for your particular nation, Amara's, while not even mentioning for or regarding the desires of the other nations that make up Ethiopia..
You claim they will investigate the governments crimes, even IF they did, do you think they actually care? Do you think they'd actually target the Ethiopian government out of concern for Ethiopia and the human rights of their people? If you do, you are indeed naive and foolish.
It's all about ulterior motives and agenda's, meant to keep Ethiopia an impoverished client of theirs, who will be forced to do their bidding within Ethiopia and the region as a whole, the way Ethiopia has been doing since Meneliks time to Haile Selassie to the derg/USSR to TPLF led eprdf to now.
In reference to the war in Tigray, an objective person would know that war crimes were more likely than not, carried out by all sides: the tigrayan forces, the forces of the ENDF, fano, etc. So when you only mention "olf Abiy," then it's obvious you're biased against the government and not being fair. Not a fan of the government but I know an unfair individual when I see one.
