After Amharas moved down south in search of space and resources and separated from Eritrean and Tigryan regional connections they started developing some of their own dialects from Eritrean/tigryan geez type of language. As Amharas moved more to the south they started speaking what is now known as Amharic language. Amharic is very young language but Geez and Geez dialects on which Amharaic is based is much older.
