Re: Eritrea: Danakali & Sichuan deal finalized.
Great news! This is a major deal. There will not be any problem anymore of starting operations. It is going to be a game-changer in Eritrea. With the dirty TPLF now gone for good, Eritrea's future is secure and promises to be very prosperous!
Re: Eritrea: Danakali & Sichuan deal finalized.
On Jan. 9, 2006 the USA launched a diplomatic initiative to demarcate the border between Eritrea & Ethiopia. Then US AMB to the UN, Bolton, told UNSC that a high-level US delegation would travel to the Region to discuss how to begin implementation of the demarcation process.
AMB. Bolton announced, the US initiative at a closed-door UNSC meeting on the future of UNMEE. The US team was led by Asst Sec of State for African Affairs Jendayi Frazer & retired Marine Gen. Carlton Fulford, who directed the Africa Center for Strategic Studies.
On Jan 20, 2006 AMB Frazer visited Badme a sovereign Eritrean territory under Eth occupation w/out Eritrea’s permission. The Gov of Eritrea protested in Washington, that US delegation visited occupied territory. She replied that Badme was sovereign Ethiopian territory, until demarcation.
In his Book, "Surrender Is Not an Option" (p. 347) John Bolton wrote;
For reasons I never understood, Frazer reversed course & asked in early Feb to reopen the EEBC decision, which she'd concluded was wrong...I was at a loss how to explain that to the UNSC, so I didn’t.

That will have a big impact on getting Eritrea's economy off the ground......
Re: Eritrea: Danakali & Sichuan deal finalized.
That is excellent news indeed, not only for Eritrea but Ethiopia as well. On the other hand, let the US and its western tutelage yawn in frustration of not accomplishing their evil design.

This gentleman seems to have a good grasp on what has been going on with this project......
Re: Eritrea: Danakali & Sichuan deal finalized.
The Eri govt, should heed TN's advice on this one:
Re: Eritrea: Danakali & Sichuan deal finalized.
Yes, bro, the US has frozen our request for Boeing airplanes, with a downpayment made on some of them, and Caterpillar earthmovers, and keeps on blocking us from acquiring their spare parts as well. Because of those illegal and unfair sanctions imposed on us, we have opted to purchase Chinese products (including earthmovers) to augment our developmental needs. As far as airplanes are concerned, however, we would still be in the same situation we are in if we could not fly them to Europe, North America, and Euroasia (primarily Australia and Newzealand).
Re: Eritrea: Danakali & Sichuan deal finalized.
That's definitely- as you stated brother- what they'll attempt to do but if the airplanes are new and their spare- parts readily available, then it's going to be matter of open discrimination & Eritrea might choose the option of taking the matter to an international adjudicating court.Temt wrote: ↑11 Jan 2023, 17:18Yes, bro, the US has frozen our request for Boeing airplanes, with a downpayment made on some of them, and Caterpillar earthmovers, and keeps on blocking us from acquiring their spare parts as well. If, as TN's tweet states, only this year the airline had 32 customers for the same plane & they're ok to fly- then why not Eritrea?
Re: Eritrea: Danakali & Sichuan deal finalized.
Can the Chinese drill a well of oil and natural gas too
Drill around aseb parallel to the yemeni oilfields
Drill again the anadarko wells (can’t trust anadarko)
Redrill the mobile well of 1969 where gas was discovered and was not able to stop it for weeks (15 km NW) of dahlak)
Chinese are becoming the hope for Africa

Eritrea is rich in natural resources. It is estimated that at least 50% of our land has gold, not to mention gas, oil and potash. Drill, baby, drill
This coupled with its strategic location and easy access to the world market we are about to become another Singapore.

China's approach may be starkly different from US's, but it wouldn't make it less predatory......
Africa should stop looking for a 'gentle' master. For, that wouldn't change the asymmetric power relationship between Africa and China.
What Africa should strive for is to be treated as equal partner in its dealings......I understand it's easier said than done.

Yes, bro. I didn't like the idea that we are placing all our eggs in one basket for China has most of our mining projects. But, as evil as the US-led western powers have been acting against us, for now, I see no feasible alternative other than going the way we have been.
The stupidity and sheer arrogance of the West are somewhat hilarious. The Aussies were forced to give away a golden opportunity just because the US placed illegal sanctions against Eritrea, to the advantage of the Chinese! But again, look at what they have done to their economy by sanctioning Russia. Really stupid. They have damaged their economy by sanctioning the Ruskies! On the other hand, the Russians are going to the world market smiling where there is no Russophobic as the crazy Americans appear to be suffering from!

Analysis
BRICS undermine dollar hegemony with gold purchases
Central banks have been accumulating the precious metal at a record rate

Just before the New Year, the Financial Times ran a piece https://www.ft.com/content/e0983ebb-bbe ... 9fa06e1a77 noting that central banks were accumulating gold at a rate not seen in 55 years. In the third quarter of 2022, analysts estimate that almost 400 tonnes of gold were bought by central banks. That much gold would take around 16 semi-trailer trucks to transport. https://www.visualcapitalist.com/12-stu ... ts-rarity/
In November, traders in the gold market noted that there was a huge buyer entering the market and purchasing very large volumes of gold — a so-called ‘whale’. In December it was revealed https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles ... an-3-years that this whale was the Chinese central bank. But it wasn’t just the Chinese buying gold. Other buyers https://www.brinknews.com/quick-take/ce ... d-amounts/ include Turkey, India, Uzbekistan, Egypt, Qatar, and Iraq. It is worth noting that many of these countries have expressed an interest in joining the BRICS+ alliance.
Why are central banks snapping up gold? Most commentators recognise that it is due to geopolitical turmoil. Jonathan Guthrie at the FT, for example, argues https://www.ft.com/content/c0903d85-f56 ... 01ce2bab1a that
and thatgold is the currency of fear and mistrust,
the democratic west and the authoritarian east are pulling apart amid mutual recriminations.
Guthrie is certainly correct that a geopolitical schism is taking place, but since when is gold the currency of mistrust? Throughout history gold-backing has been used to [deleted] trust in currencies — when sterling was the global reserve currency it was said to be
Our period of paper currency is the exception rather than the rule, and it only started in 1971 when the US dollar link to gold was broken. It was 1967 which saw levels of gold purchases by central banks comparable to what we observed at the end of 2022. All of this raises the obvious question: what if these purchases signal the beginning of the end of the paper dollar as the global reserve currency?good as gold.
It seems unlikely that the countries buying gold are going to try to give their currencies gold backing. But it appears probable that the immediate cause of the rush for gold is an attempt to diversify out of dollars. Since the United States seized Russia’s dollar reserves after the invasion of Ukraine last year, other countries have grown distrustful of holding dollars as they fear that they, too, could see their reserves seized in the future. Hence the race for gold.
Perhaps there is no plan behind the current gold rush, but it may be read in retrospect as the beginning of the evolution of a new global monetary order. It could be the first step toward this reshaping of the landscape, as countries around the world try to find alternatives to the dollar. The West is learning a hard and fundamental lesson: financial systems are built on trust, and if they are weaponised they lose the trust required to maintain their dominance. It would be strongly in our self-interest to attempt to rebuild faith in our financial system if we want to protect our global power.

American hegemony is coming to an end. With that a new era of hope and prosperity is ushering in the horn. The stars have aligned perfectly in our favour. The green eyed parasites who have nothing to contribute will be left in the past where they belong and forever forgotten. The sky is now truly the limit. Congratulations everyone.
