It is hard to find any person that supports PP and PM Abiy these days in Addis Ababa. Whether it is inside Uber/Ride or at Lekso Bet, everybody in the citiy is cursing PP and PM Abiy for PP's corruption, incompetence and illegal attempt to take away Addis Ababa's constitutional self rule by attempting to impose a one ethnic favoring system in a city, a city that is built by all Ethiopians. The irony is, almost all Oromos I know who are born and raised in Addis also strongly oppose the current narrow attitude of PP. One can clearly say that the resistance is coming from all residents of the city regardless of their ethnic background.
The PM promising to stop the illegal practice is a step in the right direction but it is not enough. People are suffering under the high cost of living (inflation), PP's corruption and incompetence. If things don't change radically fast to the better, it is increasingly looking like a pre 2005 election brewing volcano. It feels like something is about to explode. Hopefully, the authorities will wake up and fix the mess before things get out of hand.
