One of the often repeated & dangerous lies of the conflict in northern Ethiopia is the massively inflated figure of 500,000 war dead. This number was originally conjured up out of thin air by TPLF supporter, Prof. Jen Nyssen

The number was heavily inflated, to bolster the propaganda push against Ethiopia & Eritrea. It was part of the insidious plan, to tarnish the two countries and to stereotypically paint them as savage Africans
