If you want to make a sustainable positive change, then make sure to place the impact on the right place. By the same token Ethiopia needed to identify the right spot before releasing her full force of impact, which is applicable in her case.
Ethiopia is an agrarian country, around 80% of the nation's economy is based on the agricultural sector. The rest around 20% economic sectors are based on urban based economy like manufacturing, services etc.
If you make a sustainable change in the agricultural sector, then, rest assured, its impact will easily make positive influence on the other sectors.
Here it is not only about investing the necessary resources but also about choosing the right strategy.
It could be too early to make a conclusive judgment about if this year's pumpous harvest will sustain itself in the following years, but in case this will prove itself to be the case, then Ethiopia has escaped and one of the major traps has been demolished successfully. Ethiopia will no more going to be associated with aid-money and as such also no more a subservient state to the interest of others.
A promising future might not be far away anymore!
