Why are Tigrayans now mad and against Debretsion ? Debretsion is just one man in a group of TPLF leadership.
I have respect to Debriz for what he did with the tools he was left with. To begin with, Deretsion is a hardworking electronic technician of humble origin who took himself all the way to PhD.
The decision to go to war at the start of the conflict 2 years ago was made by the old guard of the TPLF, such as aboy Sibhat, Abay Woldu, Sium Mesfin, Siye Abraha, Tsadqan, Abay Tsehaye ....

Debretsion gave the warmonger tigreans all what they asked. They asked for war against ethiopia and eritrea and that’s exactly what he gave them. they all were cheering for war. They can’t blame him when their generals are defeated fair and square.

The only mistake he did was lying about why TDF had to retreat from northern Showa. TPLF tried to cover up its defeat by saying the US told them to retreat but in reality we know after Abiy’s new drones and the million man army came into the scene TDF’s long and thin supply line was easily broken and many of its fighters got cut off in many places and TDF has to retreat in two weeks leaving thousands of dead bodies everywhere. Instead of telling tigreans the true cause of TDF’s retreat, TPLF chose to tell them the ridiculous fairy tail of “the US told us to retreat”.

Many tigreans now believed this absurd lie and accuse tplf leaders for listening to the US.

That’s the main reason why this time TPLF learned from its mistakes and sent gen. Tadesse Werede to tell the truth of TDF’s military defeat so that TPLF’s political leaders are no more blamed but it seems the damage has already been done.

Except from this one mistake of lying about the true cause of TDF’s retreat from northern Showa, I see no difference between many warmongering tigreans and Debretsion. He just gave them what they are pushing for and now it seems they don’t like the results. They believe another leader would give them victory against two armies and regional forces with so much material and human resources, drones and heavy weaponry. This looks to me like a mass delusion.
