You’re conflicting yourself. You dug up thousandth of years of History to push the savage label and yet you acknowledged that not all today’s Oromos are originally Oromo. I personally don’t have any issue with your argument as long as your comment is targeted toward the actual perpetrators & lunatic Oromos. Regarding the silence of Oromo elites & politicians, you may also need to look into the mirror. What did Gojjam people do when Belay Zeleke was hanged in front of his kids? What did Ethiopians do after the massacre of the failed coups in 1960 & 1989? Why didn’t Ethiopians at large revolt upon the cold-blooded assassination of former ministers by Derg & while TPLF & Derg were massacring millions of Amharas and Amhara youths in particular? Why is everyone minding just his or her business while the majority of Ethiopians are continuously suffering from poverty & famine, which is a slow death no less than the massacre in Wollega? In my opinion, all politicians are opportunistic & they can’t be used as a measuring stick to gauge the characters of everyday Ethiopians.

No, there is conflicting statement at all. I guess you misread it. Those who call themselves "Oromo" today 500 years ago were either Mogasized Amhara to convert into accepting Oromo culture - which was typically violent as written by many scholars including Aba Behrey who witnessed the incident. Personality is made of nature and nurture( socialization or cultural orientation). Thus, the hundreds of years of socialization of the Oromos built a belief system inculcated to them by Aba Geday. It does not matter whether one was an Amhara, Gurage or White as long as what is instilled in him is culture of violence. That was the point I am trying to say.

Unless you adopted the culture of ዋሽቶ ማስታረቅ which has been used by Ethiopian ሽማግሌዎች, I never heard a mob or herd attack motivated by tribalism until recently by Oromo and Tigre thugs. እነኝህ ሁለቱ እንደት ይመሳሰላሉ።

No, there is conflicting statement at all. I guess you misread it. Those who call themselves "Oromo" today 500 years ago were either Mogasized Amhara to convert into accepting Oromo culture - which was typically violent as written by many scholars including Aba Behrey who witnessed the incident. Personality is made of nature and nurture( socialization or cultural orientation). Thus, the hundreds of years of socialization of the Oromos built a belief system inculcated to them by Aba Geday. So, what solution are you suggesting and what are you personally doing as an Ethiopian?

With regard to Orthodox Christianity, I honestly don’t have any concern. The church has withstood feudalism, communism and tribalism and it’s still sustaining & striving. If people want to convert to a Protestant dominion, no one can stop them regardless of the political system. And they have every right to do so. Orthodox Christians convert to Islam/Protestant or vice verse. What’s the big deal?
