Sabur mentions Eritreans are happy for Ethiopians. True. But his omission is that Tigrian Eritreans are happy that they themselves won. It’s like any Somali considers it his/ her own win if Somalia athletes, regardless of country origin or citizenship, wins. Same goes for Tigrigna speakers.

I have seen the recent wins celebrated by all Tigrians regardless of their country be it Eritrea or Ethiopia. It’s very narrow of you to limit affiliation just by international lines or borders, colonial borders at that! Your view is shallow and this emanates from HGDEF’s ideology of running away from its mainly Tigraway identity.

Folks, correct me if I’m wrong here but Tigrians are delivering in both bicycle race and long distance running and this brought both Eritrea and Ethiopia international recognition.
