Historically there were two routes or gateways of any influence to Ethiopia.
1) Primarily via the Abay River
2) Afar and Red Sea coast
1) Without mentioning much of the Biblical recordings of Ethiopia and its influence in Africa and the middle East, just zeroing on the King Menelik I and all those first-born Jews flocked to Ethiopia simply informs how the whole story of Solomonic Dynasty and the history about Arc of Covenants triumphed in Ethiopia. Menelik I came to Ethiopia following the Nile/Abay River. The Arc of Covenant was preserved for thousands of years in Tana Haiq until it later moved to Axum. Many of the first-born Jews were settled in Gojjam, Gondar and Wollo, not in Tigray. Dozens of artifacts prove in fact the arc of covenants was kept in the monastery of Tana. Furthermore, the True Cross of Jesus, which is kept at Gishen Amba in Wollo, came to Ethiopia during king Dawit via the Abay River. Even the mother of God, St. Mary and our Lord Jesus Christ flee to lake Tana following the Abay River. Much of the history that shaped Ethiopia was along the Abay River of Amhara provinces, not Tigray. During all this time there was no place called Tigray at all. No historical mention was made at all. If Tige or Tigray were big influence of the world in ancient time, why really was not a single mention of Tigre at all. The truth is there is nothing known as Tigray. Unless one dares to make a complete pure lie. In fact, it was ruled by Amhara kings and was predominantly inhabited by Amhara that later relocated south wards.
2) The other gateway for any cultural contacts with the Asian and Arab world is the Adal/Afar area. This area being coastal, Afar were relatively civilized in building ship/boats and conduct trade with Arab worlds. The Afar were very influential in old time. The Queen of Sheba was an Afar woman and her tribe was very influential in Ethiopia. Afar were involved in human trafficking business in ancient times. In this same time Agew and Amhara as well were strong influential forces in the Ethiopian government. The Amhara kingdom in Axum stood out and were seeking more workers both in the field and constructions. As its influence on the middle east grew, it was then that the present-day Tigre came to Ethiopia from Yemen; and Afar/Adal were the one that chauffeured them to Ethiopia. This coastal area was also the route for Islamic faith to enter Ethiopia. The expansion of Islam was primarily due to the influx of Arabs to Wollo, who are known as Muhammedian (ማመዶች/መሃመዶች) not really due to the few family’s member of the Prophet. That is evidenced by the fact that they did not have impact to have larger followers in Tigray - they just lived their own lives either returned to their country later or died and buried in the area know called Tigray. Many people from Wollo associates themselves to this Mamedoch tribe or genealogy; and one can easily read from the faces of most Wollo - the province is more like ዐረብ ገንዳ just not in the Dessie city alone. Recently, Noble Amhara was talking about Argoba - referring them as Arab Geba. He may have some truth.
In sum, history does not lie, but people do. While the history of a nation or a country is a communal wealth of every individual citizen of that sovereign country, the greed of some Tigre thugs openly trying to steal the history of the majority is very disgusting. As the saying goes በኋላ የመጣ አይን የዐወጣ the TPLF/OLF thugs are the most selfish, greedy that want to deprive of others by frequently fabricating lies and propagating it now and then. It is time to tell them who they in fact were in the first place. Political correctness and being timid assuming after all we all are Ethiopian so I/We don't care is total stupidity in the face of these rabid TPLF/OLF lie machines.
