The reason the majority of Somalis respect Isaias Afwerke is because they think he is a man of integrity and principle who never betrayed Somalia during its turbulent period.

In fact, Afwerke was very saddened by the situation Somalia was in when Eritrea gained its independence because the president had hoped Somalia would walk side by side in the early 1990s.

As far as Mr. Omar Geleh is concerned, despite the fact that he is Somali, he let the Americans to utilise the Djabouti military base to bomb Somalia and cause havoc in exchange for a huge dollar. He cashed like Meles.

There is definitely something that you are fishing from the Somalians.
This existence by manipulation can only take you so far.
Parasite Hamasseins. You belong to the mountains but not to the Red Sea. You must pay in kind for the evil thing you did to the good people of Ethiopian.
THE REPUBLIC OF AFAR IS THE OLDEST AND THE ONLY LEGIT STATE ON THE REF SEA.

The Somali people are victims of their own country's highly important strategic location along the Indian Ocean, which has been a critical trade route for centuries that world powers have been vying for control and primacy, making Somalia a pawn in their geo-strategic game of chess.

Rear Admiral Alfred Thayer Mahan, a United States naval officer, who is best known as the most important American strategist of the 19th century, said: "Whoever controls the Indian Ocean dominates Asia. This ocean is the key to the seven seas. In the 21st century, the destiny of the world will be decided on its waters."

Western powers see China's Belt and Road Initiative altering the balance of power in the Indian Ocean, hence their use of the World Bank and the IMF to create economic crisis and instability in countries like Sri Lanka that gave China access to the Indian Ocean, through which much of China’s trade heading to Africa passes.

In 2016, the GDP of the US was $18.57 trillion, China's $11.2 trillion, and India's $2.264 trillion. Projections vary, but by 2030, the line-up would be: China $25.6 trillion; US $22.8 trillion; and India $6.68 trillion (Goldman Sachs, 2012).
(Sorry there is no data available for Tigray's GDP.)

My take on is:

Ismail Omar Guelleh: 0.1% and trust me, I'm quite generous for him.
Isaias Afweki: 99%

President Isaias might be popular among Somalis because he also often mentions his days in Mogadishu and says that he likes Somalis.

No, that was not the case, as this fat cow is not in a position to dictate on how the Americans use their base, as all he cares about is the rent they pay to him.

The thing is that he has been fueling conflicts between conflicting political factions in Somalia. This guy is cynical and selfish beyond belief. He doesn't want Somalis to unite, neither does he support Somaliland to secede - his wish is to keep Somalia in a never-ending chaos.

On the other hand, President isaias has a genuine heart and feeling for Somalia and would do anything for it.

I'm not surprised. He's by far the most popular President in the African continent, yet the most demonized and ostracized by the white media for refusing to be their stooge.

That’s the biggest nonsense the Djibouti president has. Been nothing but supportive to what ever weak government that emerges in xalane. We have done everything for Somalia no other country has done as much as Djibouti to make Somalia Somalia peaceful. Ismail Omar guele doesn’t want Somalia to unite u can’t help everyone in this joint. How on earth can u say Djibouti supports the division of Somalia we have been nothing but supportive and our lack for support for somaliland is due to our alliance with Somalia not because we want somalis to hate had we recognised Somaliland independence u would throw the biggest tandrum that there is a crazy dir conspiracy. You damned if you do you damned if you don’t
