i listened/watched that video a couple of times a while ago and always amazed by how he was able to forsee what is to come but then i don't see anywhere i contradicted your point, did i?

Do they even have an idea of how this 4 year old trust between the two countries , after a long long held hatred designed and ocastrated mostly by other countries outside of the two countries and ofcourse recently by their agent weyane, came about? how many lives of both citizens perished due to that hatred ? livelihoods destroyed ? i don't think so ! If it wasn't for the wise men of the two countries realizing that they are being outsmarted and played by others, this would have continued for another generation of Ethiopians and Eritrean . Is that what they are .nostalgic about now? Horus here just stated his admiration of Col Goshu Welde 's brilliance , velifying each other's country isn't even relevant here and won't take us anywhere but disaster.
That being said Col. Goshu is undeniably a world class mind . I remember at my very young age when he was foregn or education minister(not quite sure-i was young) but his name was an inspirational then. And i was, to be honest, so happy when PM Dr Abiy recognized his honesty and contribution while he was on tour in America . It was static, wasn't it for some? Please do not fall for the tricks of the TPLF cyber cadre trolls. Union aka noble Amhara is not Amhara. Those accounts belong to the same tegadalay TPLF cyber cadre troll. Do not fall for it and let them make you insult the Amhara nation. None of us are truly proud of what occurred at badme because the TPLF used Amhara and Oromo and other Ethiopian ethnicities as cannon fodder. They wanted to use Ethiopian ethnicities to help them overthrow shabia, install a puppet regime there to annex Massawa or Assab, secede from Ethiopia and leave the rest of Ethiopia in chaos.
TPLFS own manifesto includes all of the kebessa land as Tigray along with the seaports. They've been dreaming of marching through Eritrea to the red sea since the days of alula and yohannes. There is no question about Derg’s firm stance on patriotism & Ethiopian integrity but at the end of the day, they handed over Ethiopia to woyane mafias on a silver platter. And Goshu was part of Derg while the military regime was miserably mismanaging the country for decades, impoverishing it to its bones and resulting in the death & displacement of millions of young people. Those who lost a family member or got incarcerated or tortured never forget the pain inflicted by Mengistu, his cadres & security forces. if you had told me that few years ago I would have whole heartedly agreed with your asertion about derg, however, after the start of the war with TPLF and observing the degree of involvemet of the west and some midde eastern countries in Ethiopia's affairs my perception of the derg has completely changed. What I came to realize is that the west and some middle eastern countries can turn any nationalist government in to a more monster regime than even derg.. Dr Abiy's government is a case in point. If it wasn’t for his extreme patience, which sometimes tested ours, Dr Abiy would have turned in to a deadly monster regime/dictator than even Mengistu. Mengistu was apatriotic ( I know it is unpopular statement but a fact) but unlike Abiy he didn’t know how to counter the west and others. He and his clicks turn against some innocent and others not so innocent people and in turn the people turn against him. And that was the grand plan for the westerners to drive him out.

Talking about Dr. Abiy, my stand is it is too early to put all the blames on him, his actions doesn’t coincide with some people’s perceptions. We need more time before we rush to conclusions.

I respectfully disagree. Mengistu’s assassination campaign started on the day he overthrew the monarchy. This is a guy who buried the king beneath his office and sat on the remain for almost two decades. He murdered all former Ethiopian minsters, including the finest statesman of all time, Aklilu Habtewold. He killed so many generals that the army eventually turned against him. That mad man killed hundreds of thousands of university students, intellectuals, and politicians including my brother. He embraced socialism and implemented the entire structure as it’s written on the books. A patriot wouldn’t confiscate mud houses and see them dilapidate over the years. He created the most repressive government system in Ethiopian history. What people wear, eat, read, listen to and put in their house were all controlled.

Don’t blame the West for every evil thing Mengistu did. To me, he’s as cruel as TPLF rats, less the ethnicity crap & traitor nature of the latter.

if you had told me that few years ago I would have whole heartedly agreed with your asertion about derg, however, after the start of the war with TPLF and observing the degree of involvemet of the west and some midde eastern countries in Ethiopia's affairs my perception of the derg has completely changed. What I came to realize is that the west and some middle eastern countries can turn any nationalist government in to a more monster regime than even derg.. Dr Abiy's government is a case in point. If it wasn’t for his extreme patience, which sometimes tested ours, Dr Abiy would have turned in to a deadly monster regime/dictator than even Mengistu. Mengistu was apatriotic ( I know it is unpopular statement but a fact) but unlike Abiy he didn’t know how to counter the west and others. He and his clicks turn against some innocent and others not so innocent people and in turn the people turn against him. And that was the grand plan for the westerners to drive him out.

A brilliant speech & beautiful mind of course, but so what? Meles Zenawi was likewise a brilliant orator. His argument to keep African Union in Addis & his interview with Egyptian TV on Nile Sharing are some of his exemplary extemporaneous speeches.

There is no question about Derg’s firm stance on patriotism & Ethiopian integrity but at the end of the day, they handed over Ethiopia to woyane mafias on a silver platter. And Goshu was part of Derg while the military regime was miserably mismanaging the country for decades, impoverishing it to its bones and resulting in the death & displacement of millions of young people. Those who lost a family member or got incarcerated or tortured never forget the pain inflicted by Mengistu, his cadres & security forces. If it weren’t for Derg, Ethiopia wouldn’t have been subsequently subjected to TPLF atrocities & we wouldn’t have the mess we are in today. As the saying goes bad leaders couldn’t survive without their followers’ compliance and therefore a genius led by an incompetent & brutal dictator is equally impotent.

That being said Col. Goshu is undeniably a world class mind . And i was, to be honest, so happy when PM Dr Abiy recognized his honesty and contribution while he was on tour in America . It was static, wasn't it for some? Talking about Dr. Abiy, my stand is it is too early to put all the blames on him, his actions doesn’t coincide with some people’s perceptions. We need more time before we rush to conclusions.
