Politics one thing, academics another. Goshu’s educational credentials & rhetorical skills are indeed unparalleled but he miserably failed when it comes to politics, military & management. On this Forum, i had always considered you as one of the calm, thoughtful participants. I find your level of anger bordering the untruth very disturbing. Your association of Goshu with Feudalism is precisely the opposite of who he is. Go ask his Navy colleagues. He was a bright proud military officer with much disdain for the feudal ruling class and known for that behavior.

You might have your own personal motives for this level of anger and hate, but associating Goshu with Feudalism is totally inaccurate. In my little understanding of the subject matter here I think that before Ato Goshu Wolde went to the Neo-colonialists' house, the Neo-colonialists themselves came to his house and put the house in disorder. The Derg regime, which Colonel Goshu was a part of, did some good, but let's be honest, the bad they did outweighed the good by far.
When you read about the Derg, or hear about them from family members who were there to witness its mismanagement of the country, have very few good things to say about it, but plenty of bad things to say. I can appreciate the literacy campaigns, the dismantling of the gabbar system, and other good things, but the Derg regime caused so much pain to the people and country, that we'd be unable to put into words how much they did.


The speech here is emotional and he appears sincere, but let's be honest, it's wishful thinking of an individual who lacks understanding of what the Eritreans, for example, wanted. They were not fighting for greater autonomy within Ethiopia, they were fighting for complete independence from the Ethiopian Empire, and even IF** they wanted to consider autonomy or a federal arrangement then, the derg and the emperor before the derg, destroyed any of those thoughts when their armies and militias carried out various atrocities in Eritrea.
It's almost similar to how Somaliland decided to separate from Somalia, while at point they were one country, because of the atrocities inflicted upon them by the Siad Barre regime.

These two groups calling themselves , on one side Eritrean and on the other Ethiopians antagonizing on this forum are either both super idiots or are both weyanes talking to each other. Do they even have an idea of how this 4 year old trust between the two countries , after a long long held hatred designed and ocastrated mostly by other countries outside of the two countries and ofcourse recently by their agent weyane, came about? how many lives of both citizens perished due to that hatred ? livelihoods destroyed ? i don't think so !
