Who is your local MP? And why is she an expert on this? FYI, Clinton picked Cohen (a republican) for defence, and there many such examples, including many European coalition govts where two or more parties share departments.

BTW, if no other country did this, but Abiy chose to do it in Ethiopia, why would that be wrong?

Yes, it can. Your local MP ደደብ ነች። ሳቋ እራሱ የሚያስቅ ነው። As justo pointed out in US an opposition party politician could be appointed. The Cohen appointment to defense during the Clinton administration that Justo pointed out is a good example. At the beginning of his presidency Obama kept the outgoing Republican administration defense minister. There are other examples to cite. When it comes to defense and foreign affairs the two parties dissimilarity is not that high so appointing a politician from different party does not result in a policy change. At any rate the party in power dictates policy.
Abiy has not appointed የህዝብ ደህንነት ሚኒስትር from the opposition. If that were the case that “giggling” lady might have a point.
Her opposition of an education minister being from a different party proves she is one tribal politician who gets sick whenever someone calls the name Ethiopia.

የኢትዮጵያ ፖለቲካ ሲብስበት የጎሳ ስሌት ፖለቲካ ነው። ተሻሻለ ሲባል የግለሰባዊ ፐርሰናሊስት ስልጣን ሽኩቻ ፖለቲካ ነው። እኔ ሁሉን ነገር ከውጭ ሆኜ ሳየው ብርሃኑ ነጋ የት/ሚኒስቴን መያዙ ለኢዜማ ግዙፍ እድል ነው፤ በትክክል ከተጠቀሙበት ። ምን ማለቴ ነው?

የትምህርት ኢንዱስትሪ ምናልባት መላውን ሕዝብ ከሚነኩት ከእርሻ ቀጥሎ ያለው መስክ ነው ። ይህ ኢንዱስትሪ 31 ሚሊዮን ተማሪዎችን ያቅፋል ። እያንዳንዱ ተማሪ ቢያንስ አንድ ወላጅ እንኳ ቢኖረው ሌላ 30 ሚሊዮን ሕዝብ ይነካል። እስከ 1 ሚሊዮን የሚደርሱ መምህራን አሉ ይባላል። ከትምህርት ጋራ በተያያዘ የሚሰሩ ሌላ 1 ሚሊዮን ተቀጣሪዎች ቢኖሩ አያስገርምም። ይህም ማለት ፕ/ር ብርሃኑ የት/ሚኒትር በመሆኑ ብቻ ከ60 እስከ 65 ሚሊዮን ኢትዮጵያዊ ስለኢዜማ ያውቃል፣ ይነጋገራል። ብርሃኑ የትምህርትን ጉዳይ በጥሩ ስም ካስነሳ በዚያ ተያይዞ የኢዜማ ስም ይነሳል፣ ስለኢዜማ ችሎታ ይወራል ። ይህ ቀላል ጉድ ዊል ወይም የመልካም ስም ዋጋ አይደለም ።

ስለሆነም ተፎካካሪ ፓርቲዎች አሁን ባለው መንግስት ውስጥ ጭብጥ የሆነ የመሪነትና ያስተዳደር ብቃት ማሳየታቸው ትልቅ ጥቅሙ ለብልጽግና ቢመስልም በጥልቀት ላየው ሰው ይብለጥ ተጠቃሚው ተፎካካሪው ፓርቲ ነው ።

ስለዚህ የኢዜማ አባላት የፓርቲ መሪያቸውን ሲመርጡ የስራው ሸክም ግዜ ላላቸው በመስጠት አሁን ባለው መንግስት ውስጥ እንደ ምልክትና ሎጎ የሚያገለግሉትን እንዳ ዋና መሪ በማድረግ ብሄራዊ ፖለቲካ ውስጥ ያላቸው ገጽታ ማጠንከር አለባቸው ። ብሄራዊ ብራንድ ያላቸውን ሰዎች ከፍተኛ ቢሮ መስጠት እና ስራ የሚበዛባቸው ከሆነ ያን ሸክም ሌሎች መደልደል ነው።

እንደ ብርሃኑ ያሉ መሪዎች አሁን ፍላጎታቸው የአንድ ፓርቲ አለቃ መሆን አይደለም፤ በአገሪቱ መንግስት የስልጣን እርከን ወደ ላይ መውጣት ነው። ያ ነው የሁሉም ፓርቲ አላማ። ብርሃኑ ነጋ ከዚህ በኋላ ወደ ኢኮኖሚ ሚኒስት፣ ወደ ውጭ ጉዳይ ሚኒስትር ፣ ብሎም ወደ ጠ/ሚ እንጂ ተመልሶ ወደ ታች ሊሄድ አይችልም፤ በፖለቲካው አለም ማለቴ ነው ።

ስለዚህ ኢዜማዎች ይህ ሁሉ አስልተው ነው ፓርቲ መሪዎቻቸን መምረጥ ያለባቸው።

አቢይ አህመድ በተመለከተ፣ ጠንካራ መሪና በጠባብ የድጋፍ መሰረት ላይ መቆም ካልፈለገ ሆነ ብሎ ከብልጽግና ወጭ ያሉ፣ የሚቀሙትን ጭምር ወደ መንግስቱ በማስገባት ዳይናሚክ የሆነና እራሱን በራሱ የሚያረምና የሚያስተምር ቲም መመራት አለበት ። ታማኛ አቤት ባይ ሚኒስትሮችን ብቻ ከሰበሰበ ግሩፕ ቲንክ ወይም እርስ በርሱ የሚዳቀል ጤነኛ ያልሆነ ቡድን ይሆናል ።

The education system of Ethiopia is built on ethnic based structures. The only system that come close policy wise was the one in South Africa during apartheid. Even that system has academic quality to a certain group in ranking orders.

If the education system and policy was bad under the TPLF that Dr Birr oppose, then why is he serving the same system under Abiye Ahmed?
